Editorial Reviews
Digitally remastered edition with 2 original albums on a single CD. These two full lengths are the result of the collaboration of ex-Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower with ex-Cream bassist and vocalist Jack Bruce and drummer Bill Lordan. The sound is outstanding and the package includes exclusive liner notes penned by Trower himself.

There really is a unique chemistry between the players. Bill Lordan is an awesome drummer and his contribution should not be overlooked. Jack Bruce is great as always...his bass playing is gorgeous and he is in good voice. I think "B.L.T." is definitely the better of the two records, both in vibe and sound. The songs are also more fully realized.
As I said, "Truce" does not hold up as well as "B.L.T.". While I like the material enough, the main victim of bad 80's production is the unfortunate drum sounds. However, what I like is the R&B vibe and Trower and Bruce both play this style very well without losing their footing. Trower uses more effects on this record, which may be some indication that he felt less confident about the quality of the material. Jack Bruce sings really well on this collection and his bass playing is stunning as ever. While not a great record, it still a nice collection from these two legendary artists.
FYI- For those who haven't heard their 2007 release, "Seven Moons", it is not only the best collaboration between Trower and Bruce but one of the finest records of either man's career.
"Truce", on the other hand, is a different story altogether!! Poorly mixed, vocals dropping out randomly, over produced and over all a more "commercial" sounding project, I skip it. I just can't bring myself to listen to it...especially following the masterpiece that B.L.T. is. I'm sorry. After the first 10 tracks, which are "B.L.T.", I move on to the next disc in the player. I'm a singer/ songwriter and, among other things, a bass player...and a HUGE Jack Bruce fan, but Truce has been weighed and found wanting. It may seem cruel, I certainly don't mean to be. I respect these artist. I just have to call 'em like I hear 'em. Why it was decided that these two works (B.L.T. / Truce) be put on a single disc is beyond me. You, however, might love them both. If I were rating "Truce" alone I would've given it 1 or maybe 2 stars, while "B.L.T." alone would've rated 5...with a bonus star if I could.
everybody's playing for hisself. Yes there are some good songs on the albums, but listening to musicians of that format
I expect more. I say: for fans only.

of Jack Bruce's voice and bass, and Robin Trower's excellent lead
makes for really powerful music.
商品状態はとても良かった
So having given qualification to my praise of this CD, this is still a fine pair of albums and is certainly worth having for B.L.T. alone but Truce has some great moments on it too. By anyone else's standards this is a very very fine pair of albums
