A modern perspective on historic lodging in the heart of downtown Yellow Springs, the Mills Park Hotel offers gracious hospitality and luxurious accommodations that blend the comforts of home with upscale state-of-the-art amenities. Our stately suites and spacious rooms provide a relaxing haven with an exceptional attention to detail. Plantation shutters. Oak floors. Hand-laid tile. At the Mills Park Hotel, we pride ourselves on pairing classic design with modern influences. The 28-room hotel is modeled after the 19th-century home of William Mills, a local settler who is also the namesake of Mills Lawn Elementary School. Mills’ home, which was on the old site of the school, was a three-story Victorian long since torn-down; while the hotel won’t be an exact replica, it will imitate the mid-to-late-1800s style of the house and is named in honor of William Mills. Mills first financed the railroad through Yellow Springs and helped to build the town’s infrastructure. The hotel is 24,000 square feet standing three stories tall with 28 guest rooms, a restaurant, banquet hall and conference room, all of which will significantly increase the capacity for Yellow Springs to host large groups of visitors, conferences and weddings. The site also includes 81 parking spots, two bike racks, and permeable pavement to prevent runoff. The close proximity to town is one of the hotel’s main draws, being walking distance from shops, arts, college events and the Glen.

Stayed for a long weekend in Yellow Springs and was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail that we found at Mills Park. The room was well appointed, and the bed was made tight enough you could have bounced a quarter off of it. Our corner room had views overlooking the main street and was very quiet. The coffee-bar and refrigerator area was very nice and their take on the typical hotel closet was pretty neat. There was a writing desk, a sitting chair, appropriately-sized bedside tables, and local art on the walls. The hotel is nicely decorated, the front desk staff very welcoming (even let us check in slightly early), and were able to answer any question we had about the hotel and the surrounding area. The public areas of the hotel were very nice, we ended up sitting in the lobby one evening to catch the weather and have a couple of beverages, and the gift shop was one of the nicer ones I have seen in a long while. Local artisan items for sale along with things you may have forgotten as well as snacks and drinks. None of it was "hotel expensive" but seemed reasonable. Overall, great location and a great stay.

After enduring COVID for the last 11 months I surprised my wife with a long weekend at Mills Park Hotel. I've only heard great things about this hotel and let me tell you - they did not disappoint. This place is immaculate and the staff is second to none. They called twice after I made my reservation to give me priority seating to a Valentine's Day dinner they were offering, and another time to offer a special package they had. I splurged and reserved both and they were amazing! The romance package was a phenomenal deal, and it was waiting for us in our room upon arrival. Beautiful flowers, champagne, hand dipped strawberries and cheesecake, a cheese platter and a late checkout were all worth the price. And let me tell you the dinner was to die for. I've never had tres leches cake before, but it certainly won't be my last time! I can't speak enough praise to the team at Mills Park Hotel. They raise the bar for what hospitality is and should be, especially during COVID. Stay here - you won't regret it!

We spent two nights here while cycling the Little Miami Trail, which is just a short block from the hotel. It is my understanding that the hotel is only a few years old, yet appears to be a historic Victorian building. Our room was clean, modern and spacious. Plenty of USB outlets to charge devices, hardwood floors, and basket weave tile, and ample hot water in the spotless bathroom. A perfect mix of old and new. The hotel graciously allowed us to store our e-bikes in a basement storage room overnight.

This is a Jewel of a Hotel. It is a perfect combination of traditional Old Town architecture with a touch of modern updates throughout. However, there is just one precaution to be aware of. The porcelain bathtub/shower combination is a one of the old school/ modern designs, but the tub itself was very slippery! There was a safety bar attached to the shower wall, so I suggest using it when showering.

Fantastic experience. We stayed here while visiting the town of yellow springs. Started out with a mojito ordered from the bar-enjoyed it in front of the beautiful fire situated in the nice lobby. Gorgeous decor and comfortable beds- I highly recommend this hotel for anyone just driving through or a destination to get away with a loved one, friend or family. Breakfast the next day was delicious! We didn't have dinner there, but the menu looked great as well. The on site gift shop had a great selection of wine along with snacks, trinkets and decor.

Pictures do not do it justice! Such a lovely hotel with inviting and soothing and elegant décor. It sits upon the head of the town which allows you not to need your car. Everything is within walking distance, bikes are available for you to journey even farther if you so desire. Check in was a breeze, the front desk staff were very helpful and polite. The room was spacious! Charming hardwood floors! 24 hr access to anything you may need, including local ice cream and so much more in the main store. There is such attention to detail you want for nothing. The restaurant is worth the visit even if you are not going to stay at the hotel. You will love Ellie's for the locally sourced fruits and veggies. Do not skip barista bar! Do not!

This was my second time staying at this hotel. Rooms are fabulous, clean; the hotel itself is amazing but I have to note a few points of dissatisfaction. I do understand this is the middle of a pandemic and did take this into consideration and did not complain and try to get any money back or anything from the hotel. We went for Valentine’s weekend and got the Key to romance package. Per the email we received which advertised it, we were to get a cheese and fruit tray, roses, champagne, chocolate strawberries and strawberry cheesecake. We stayed Saturday and Sunday and requested these things for Sunday. Around 5 after not hearing anything, my husband inquired at the front desk when we should expect these items. Was told everything was ready when we were. So he went down around 7. Had to bring everything up himself to our room. No fruit, about a dozen pieces of cheese with crackers which were moist as they has obviously been stored in the fridge. No cheesecake. Leftover cake from the night before which they served with their Valentine’s dinner. Granted we enjoyed it the first night (we also paid for the Valentine’s dinner) but expected cheesecake. For $95 I did not find this a good value at all. Nine of this would keep me from staying here again but I would absolutely think twice before buying a package!

Beautiful boutique hotel with a delicious restaurant and really friendly staff. We went there for a little getaway weekend for our anniversary, we live about two hours away, and what a wonderful surprise. The room was really nice. Everything was brand new but made to look “old” which just added to the comfortable, cozy feel of the room. And the added bonus was the incredibly cute town the Mills Park Hotel is located in the heart of. Just leave the front door and walk to the right. Lots of cute stores and bars. Can’t wait to return!

Yesterday my husband and I booked a Deluxe Double Queen room with a private balcony for two nights to celebrate our 43 anniversary. Our total cost for two nights was $412,00. On their website it specifically says PRIVATE BALCONY. Upon entering our room I opened the balcony door only to see 4 other rooms with tables and chairs with people sitting on them. I thought we must have been given the wrong room. I called the front desk and the nice gentleman said private meant it was not open to the public. Needless to say no sitting outside in my gown for coffee or wine. We only stayed one night. Now, the hotel is beautiful. Every employee was nice. The rooms were clean.

Hi Melanie, My apologies in not responding sooner to you. Thank you for your wonderful comments about our property. If you wouldn't mind letting me know where you saw the balcony was listed as private so I can address that, I would greatly appreciate it. I can't seem to locate it, and we only ever advertise a shared balcony. Thanks again - and stay safe!

In my opinion, this hotel would be better situated a little further out of town because it's a huge building for this tiny main street. That said, it's lovely. The interior is very pretty -- it feels like a beautifully restored old mansion, yet it's new. Our room was huge and had a shared balcony (on the second floor) overlooking the main street. Yet when the door was closed, it was very quiet. The bathroom had a jetted tub. The gift shop, which has snacks, ice cream, basic necessities and some cute souvenirs, is open 24 hours; just take your goodies to the desk. Everyone working here was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
