Nice location near the centre, we were there two times in one week. The shops are nice with a lot of flowers and souveniers to choose from, but most of the shops offer the same stuff at a bit different prices. I have to add that if you need any souveniers, flowers or just smoking accessories, they have it all. You can also stop there for the dutch pancakes or cheese if you like. Just mind that it can get very busy.

We came here for a walk around, it was a raining day and unfortunately there isn’t really anywhere you can get undercover. The market stalls all have covers but they are limited and when it’s pouring down with rain you do get wet. We came on a Monday and didn’t find there was tonnes of options most of the stalls sold similar stuff. We went to a stroop wafels stall and had both an original and a dipped chocolate one if you are there you have to try both as they are so good and made fresh in front of you cost about €3 - €4 each. We also tried bennys chicken which was good they have a few different options on offer and the value for money is good. Worth a visit if your in the area.

This market offered a really good range of cheap, excellent street food and lots of items to buy, including souvenirs. There are also a number of permanent food and beverage outlets with outdoor seating amongst it all. A vibrant atmosphere. Well worth a visit and not far from some of the big tourist sights.

Visited the market on a Friday, it was not too crowed. A 10 minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum area. Market is delightful, many different vendors, art and food. If you are a firs time visitor to AMS for sure visit this local market. It's a nice break and all the vendors are charming and helpful. The young man selling the chocolate brownies, they are THE BEST EVER.

Visited this market a couple of times whilst we were in Amsterdam. Great to walk through end to end with lots to see. Great variety of stalls with all sorts to eat. Lovely fresh fish stalls that cook it to order as well.

Big, fun outdoor market. Check-out the Shwarma stalls and also go visit the stall selling brownies (excellent). Ex-pat American making his own dark chocolate brownies, really good!

I am grateful that everything in the sprawling downtown area of Amsterdam is within walking distance, including the Albert Cuyp Outdoor Market. We wanted to try the best Stroopwafels in Amsterdam (Rudi's), and we were not disappointed! We also enjoyed wandering through the length of the market, appreciating the other vendors and their varied offerings.

We visited on a cold wet Tuesday in January - so probably not representative of how the place really is. However, the market was fully operational and impressive with the variety of items for sale. The locals obviously purchase food and edibles there, and then there are stalls aimed at tourists. The food options were very varied, ranging from fruit and veg to fresh fish, artisan cheeses and even a stall specialising in game birds and meat. There were lots of hot food options also, obviously including the Dutch fries, which you just have to try! Along the outside of the market are some wonderful individual shops which would have occupied us far more if the weather had been kinder. Would definitely return

Heard about this market from virtually every guide to Amsterdam I looked at. Strangely smaller than expected. We visited after a morning at a nearby museum and thought we’d try out the street food for lunch. Not every stall or space was occupied, but we found enough to keep us happy. The grilled cheese sandwich place was really good as were the fries from the chap at the very end of the market. We couldn’t miss Rudi’s Stroop wafels and bought lots as gifts too. For us, the best and cheapest you’ll find. For the rest of the market, there are a few cheap souvenir shops which were good for bits and pieces and definitely the best prices for clog slippers (the airports prices were almost double). The cheese stalls were very well priced too and seemed more genuine to the more glossy branded cheese shops on the Damrak and in central Amsterdam. There are of course other stalls selling various other goods ranging from from toiletries to cheap clothes and household items. Overall a very nice experience which served its purpose. Definitely recommend.

Good market off the usual tourist routes with a selection of everything whether you're a local looking for fresh food or a stray tourist looking for an original souvenir. If you want an honest bite to eat in a proper Dutch cafe then try 'Cafe Koffiehuis "De Cuyp." (See picture)' It's definitely a locals place but the owner was really friendly and welcomes everyone. The food isn't flash nor expensive but, trust me, it's good. The apple pancake especially.
