Concert experience

Hi all, I will be going to several of the shows in the upcoming tour (and I'm so excited!). What is the concertgoer culture like? I'd like to make a sign if others do so as well, but I don't want to be the only person in the front with a sign and blocking others' view. Every time I saw Paul he would comment on a few of the signs and it was definitely part of the culture, but not sure how ELO does it.

Thanks!

Friendly Fun; I wouldn’t take a sign ; the musicians are focused on their work ; not sure they even be able to read it. It’s also pretty dark due to the extravagant lights. IMO

Thank you! Helpful to hear from people who’ve been already

Have a great time!

Security usually doesn't let you take in cardboard signs.

Good to know, thanks! I might as well just make one and try at each venue haha

I love ya and all, but don’t sit in front of me with your sign, please.

That's why Security doesn't let people bring signs in.

That's why I'm asking! Some places it's normal to have signs to bring up at certain moments but some places/groups it's not. I don't want to be a bad concertgoer for sure

Based on the last tour, everyone around us was very friendly. Easy to strike up a conversation about the music. Dancing in the isles was very prominent as well. It was a great experience. I will say this was my first time to ever see Jeff, so I was already over the moon emotional. This tour for me will be the icing on the cake knowing it will more than likely be the last time, plus I'm taking my 11yo son who also loves some of the music.

Thank you! Do you recall anyone having signs? Which show(s) will you be attending?

I don't recall anyone having signs. Personally, I think someone holding up a sign or continuously standing up blocking a person's view from behind them is not just annoying, it's also inconsiderate.

I expect most people will be standing near the front, no? Noted on the sign — seems like that’s not part of the culture like it would be for, say, Paul where he takes a minute to read some signs.

Lots of singing along. Lots of positive energy. Hit after hit after hit.

I can't wait!! Hope they do at least a couple deep cuts as well

In 2019? I think the person next to me was piss drunk. Still fun tho

What I liked about the 2019 tour was the multi-generations of people who were 60-something, 40-something, teens. Fathers and sons singing along and nobody feeling the least bit hesitant to simply give into the joy and positive energy of Jeff’s great body of work.
