Reviews
- Dakota Staton, the veritable love-child of Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, and Nancy Wilson, always brings her soul with her to each recording session. I'm heartbroken that I fished this out of the 99 cent bin at my local record store. Every track, every lyric, every sound on this album mirrors the sensuality, the beauty, and the complexity of Staton herself. With accompaniment from pianist Hank Jones and trumpeter Jonah Jones, Staton is framed as one would an era-defining painting.
