For the third day in a row Wednesday, Birmingham Seaholm walked away with a one-run victory over West Bloomfield.

In the final game of the series, the Maples got across two runs in the top of the fifth to tie it 4-4, and no other runs were scored until the top of the ninth when Seaholm’s Jack Lewis doubled to score Kai McEachern for what turned out to be the decisive run.

Relatively speaking, it was a high-scoring affair compared to the first two games between the schools, both 1-0 Seaholm victories.

Granden Kinnie, who also homered in Game 3, had a solo shot in Monday’s Game 1 for the Maples’ only run. Kyle Robbins, the winning pitcher, allowed just one hit, while West Bloomfield’s Slade Moore gave up just one aside from Kinnie’s homer and fanned 11 batters.

The Lakers were one-hit in Game 2 by Nick Shenefelt, who needed just a run-scoring single by Aiden Wolfson. West Bloomfield (23-4) lost despite another strong start, this time from Mitchell Rebtoy, who struck out 10.
