One of his first jobs after that was “Charley Butz”, a co-starring lead in “Escape from Alcatraz”. His first big paycheck in hand, Larry took a dare from a friend who’s husband was a young camera operator needing “…footage for my cinematography reel”. she dared him to write a film short for himself to direct, play the lead, and produce with her husband as cinematographer, Harry Mathias. one year later their short, “Solly’s Diner”, was nominated for an Academy Award.
Larry has appeared in over 150 films and TV Shows from “Friends” and “Seinfeld” (“Mr. Heckles” and “The Guy Who Stole The Raisins”), to “CSI”, the junkyard owner who crushed the winnebago and sold the huge magnet in “Breaking Bad,” the Russian hitman Slovka in episode 3 of Bill Hader’s Barry, and recently, reprized his role as go-for-Joe, the junkyard dealer in Netflix movie, “El Camino.”

However, I looked everywhere to see your name as the station worker for Southern California radio station KPAE, opposite Baker (Jim Begg), but I did not find a full cast and crew or uncredited verification that it was you. Question about your t-shirt art. Were these paintings done with people posing for you or scenes you observed from memory? They have a photorealist quality to them which are very interesting.
Generally from all three: Real people in an interesting pose or position, from a newspaper photo that has something interesting in it that I’ll single out, or something I just make up. It’s a crap shoot of input and selection.
I was just watching an old Seinfeld episode and i kept thinking you looked so familiar so I checked out your name. I’m positive I saw you do a comedy routine in the 60’s at The Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, Ca. It must have been early in your career. You are great ! Glad you made it in your industry and have had an excellent career.

Last evening I watched a “Hart to Hart” that I DVRed, and I noted that you were the clever policeman on the sidewalk when two men were trying to kidnap Jennifer (Hart). She pretended to litter papers on the ground in order to get your attention. It was a very clever scene, and you were perfect. I do not see this “Hart to Hart” in your Wikipedia listing of all the television shows on which you have appeared. You always bring a spark to any program!! I was introduced to you as a 15 year old in Canada watching Friends as Mr Heckles and then the more I looked in other media you kept popping up: Seinfeld, Pretty Woman, Ellen, Breaking Bad, Star Trek TNG, Home Alone, She’s Having A Baby and so on. Now 28 years later and living in the UK, I’m lucky to do a podcast with my friends where we’ve tackled some of your work (Pretty Woman, Home Alone, FRIENDS)
Out of all the cameos from the Friends reunion special is was so good to see you especially. We’d love to speak to you about your career (specifically from a Friends perspective but also touching on some of the other titles we’ve discussed) if you’d ever be open to such an idea.
