      Critics Consensus

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 sets up the franchise finale with a penultimate chapter loaded with solid performances and smart political subtext, though it comes up short on the action front.

Jordan Hoffman Esquire Magazine The meat of this franchise seems more in line with Edward Bernays than any fantasy or sci-fi author. This latest edition takes public relations to its bloodiest extreme. Oct 18, 2018 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act This is certainly a film adults can get into. The explosions, propaganda techniques, and unrest are a reminder of a history not entirely out of reach; a world and society all too realistic. for many living today. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire It may be the franchise's third movie, but it plays like its 'Empire Strikes Back.' Jun 7, 2016 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand ... director Francis Lawrence... and screenwriters Peter Craig and Danny Strong turn out a surprisingly engaging film about rebellion, propaganda, media, and the emotional and psychological scars of war... Apr 8, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast Set aside criticisms about dividing the final film. Mockingjay Part 1 is a serviceable extrapolation of the series' interest in personal vs public responsibility & PTSD. The adult cast is stacked, though dir Lawrence's focus is clearly action over actors Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 27, 2022 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies There are enjoyable moments, good characters, strong performances, and the knowledge that this is just a set-up to what should be an action-packed final film. But as a single standalone movie, I was definitely hoping for more. Rated: 3/5 Aug 21, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I thought it was pretty good. Could’ve been better but it’s hard to make a bad hunger games movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Logan D The audacity to put such little action in this movie. Fair share of cringeworthy scenes and writing. Mockingjay Part 1 is just forgettable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/16/24 Full Review Carter C While it still keeps the thrilling action and fantastic CGI that the first two films had, the film makes me wonder in most parts if this is even the Hunger Games anymore. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/11/24 Full Review Carlos T Filme: Jogos Vorazes – A Chama da Esperança part 1 @jogos_vorazes_official @jogos_vorazes #jogosvorazes Assistido: 5-4-24 Elenco: @1jnnf @jhutch1992 @liamhemsworth @elizabethbanks @woodyharrelson @Willowshields @stanleytucci @juliannemoore @mrsamclaflin @jenamalone Philip Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, @jfreewright @mahershalaali @patinamiller @nataliedormer Modelo: #aventura #ação #ficção Duração: 2h Ano: 2014 Minha opinião: Uma trilogia em 4 filmes, pois o 3º é em duas partes. 1º Jogos Vorazes (2012), Em Chamas (2013), A Esperança parte 1 (2014), A Esperança parte 2 (2015). Roteiro e enredo quase parando. Um filme tedioso. Vale apena assistir? Pode pular. Nota: 3 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Sam A The story is not bad (after all, it's from a decent book), but Jennifer Lawrence is such a bad actress that it kinda ruins the whole thing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Maddy R Jennifer Lawrence gave an amazing performance. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
