- NorthStar241270363441 contributionI visited with a small group of friends and very impressed with the background given by Vickie Bryant who has devoted 25 years exploring all of the history of this place. Her narration was wonderful! The tour around the building Fred Browning built and concealed a gambling hall and speakeasy. A great place to go back in time.Written May 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Margriet PetersenHouston, TX4 contributionsWent to the Billy Joel/Stevie Nicks concert. Great, great time. I would suggest better system with regards to the purchase of merchandise. Not very well organized and not enough places/staff. We waited twice for 30 min each time for nothing. We gave up! We were after all there to hear and see the artists, not wait in line for merchandise. Shame! I really wanted a t-shirt.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Howard SYardley, PA304 contributionsMy SiL loves baseball and is out to see all 30 stadiums. In Texas to see the Eclipse so picking up another stadium. Nice place, impressive architecture with movable roof. We got seats in section 324 way up behind 1st base foul pole. Can see well after sun went behind roof. Big crowd. Home team is loosing bottom of 5th. The sound system is awesome at 88 DbA. Bring ear plugs! Parking is expensive at $35. All payments require a cc.Written April 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Teacher91 ❤Temple, TX46,261 contributionsIt's been many years since I've been to Six Flags Over Texas, but recently I took my 10 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson, along with my DIL. There was good things and not so good things about our visit.
First the Good:
I'm not sure I have ever been to Six Flags when I didn't have to walk shoulder to shoulder with others and wait hours in line for the *best* rides. This time was an exception. We rode everything we wanted to ride multiple times. Sometimes we didn't even have to get off the ride. Was this because the park is declining in popularity or because it was hotter then Hell the day we visited? Either way, I considered it a win!
I bought a day pass for each of us that included unlimited drinks, parking, a meal, (not everything was eligible) and a snack. I thought this was a good value.
The Not So Good:
The park seemed a little run down which was disappointing and definitely not my experience in year's past. Several of the rides were not operating and some of the staff was not trained at all. My DIL tried to order a 'Dip and Dots' float and the young lady kept saying she didn't know how to make it. I ordered a "Pink Thing" and was told they no longer had them? What?!? A Pink Thing is a Six Flags classic, and we were at the Pink Thing kiosk.
Finally, the hours were 11:00 to 6:00. As hot as it was it seemed a shame to be opened in the heat of the day. If you are going to limit your hours, how about having the park either open earlier in the morning or later in the evening?
All and all, my grandkids had a blast! It was their first trip and they had no idea how it 'used to be'.
I would bring them back, but choose a cooler day.Written August 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She was sad to go even after so much time there.Written February 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cedar4604North Richland Hills, TX1,123 contributionsThe summer outdoor concert series is great! The grassy area was comfortable seating, even after a light rain. Some people sat on the surrounding cement steps, or even on the steps of the building across the street. (The street is closed down for the concert.) Top grade music brought in for the free concerts.Written July 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeffery GArlington, TX657 contributionsMy son and I stopped here for drinks while waiting to leave for the Cowboys game later. There was a $10 cover, but it was a very fun atmosphere, and we were able to reenter again after the game ended. They had a good beer and drink selection and also a nice menu. I ordered the brisket quesadillas and it was terrible. It was way undercooked, a small amount of brisket, and it tasted like it came out of a box. Will definitely visit again since it was such a fun time.Written October 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Treva RLawrenceville, GA19 contributionsI was looking for something to do after a half day tour of Fort Worth and came upon this gem on Tripadvisor...WIFE OF THE YEAR! My husband is a bowler and did not know this museum existed. I didn't tell him where we were going until the morning of our trip, primarily because I didn't know we were going to visit until the day before myself. We loved learning about the history of bowling and how it has changed over the years. He really enjoyed getting to bowl at the end of the self-guided tour! He can't wait to tell the guys on his bowling team in the fall!Written June 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dallisha wTexas City, TX16 contributionsWe had a great time! Only problem was they closed an hour early without notice. We came from out of town so we didn’t have the app to let us “know” They were closing early because of “low attendance”! We enjoyed the low attendance because the lines were short for the rides! All in all, had a great time just wish we went earlier to enjoy the full day.Written August 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tpalmer135Arlington, TX48 contributionsWe live close to this area and enjoy the size & length of the walking trail. It is clean, safe and our dog enjoys the whole experience! If you visit take along your poop bags, just in case! But, there are resepticals for trash. Also, carry bottle water for yourself & pet...it does get hot here in Texas! I recommend the trail adventures. Handicap accessible. Enjoy 😀Written March 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louis FAltus, OK1,110 contributionsVery deceptive place that doesn’t look like much from the outside. They have good beer and food as well. Large outdoor area to sit too.Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AbigailKingsport, TN14 contributionsHuge antique mall with lots of unique finds. Not as much large furniture - more heavy on collectibles, trinkety items, dishware, and clothing. Definitely has some unique stuff - a piece of Titanic coal, rare model cars, celebrity autographs, and more. Everything including antique malls is bigger in Texas!!Written January 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
