First time at Wrecked at the Reef. Due to Covid it’s very empty mid week in Rocky Point. Temperatures were taken at the door, everyone in masks, stepped on disinfectant mat to get in. The beach at the base of the bar is smooth and...calm. Juan our waiter was great. This lunch, 2 beers, a pina colada and two souvenir masks was $28. We’ll be back.More

Wrecked at the Reef was great and flexible for big parties (we had 7 people), families, and also twenty-somethings. The drinks were yummy and strong, and we had no issue at all with drinking the ice / frozen drinks. The food was good too, and...the staff was fantastic. Our server was Chris both times we went, and he was very attentive and fun. The live music was great on both days, and the beach is literally right there. There were vendors on the beach, but they only stood on the side of the restaurant and never bothered us at our tables. I would say the prices are more U.S-standard than the usual great deal you expect in MX, but to feel safe drinking icy drinks is so worth it.More

We heard you couldn’t go to Rocky Point without stopping in, they were right!!!! Super cool restaurant on the beach with a great indoor space as well. Service was beyond exceptional and beyond accommodating, even hauling the heaters outside to warm us up because we...so desperately wanted to sit outside! The food is pretty Americanized but still good, and the drink prices are super reasonable as well. Bills can be paid in USD, pesos and by cards however prices are more expensive when you pay by card so bring cash!!! The views are truly remarkable, I’d recommend the patio just before sunset, it’s stunning!More

Have been going here for a few years. Best beach atmosphere ever. The food was always average, but that was ok. I understand it is covid and everyone is working very hard. Because of covid I did not return my grilled fish platter. The worst...fish ever and they didn’t even give me a side of beans. I was given two flattened pieces of fish that were so dry I could not eat it. Not sure if it had been frozen. During this trip I had wonderful fish at Pan y Vino, Collins Tavern, and Mary’s Seafood at the fish market. No excuse for serving this kind of seafood. If this is the future of food at Wrecked at the reef, I will be forced to give up my favorite beach restaurant. Victor, however, was a great server. No issues with service.More

The month of July 2021, I went to my husband and the place was fabulous. The prices were very decent. Not cheap but were acceptable because of the drinks quality. They had 2 live bands and staff friendly and polite. We decided to comeback 4...months later. We went back this month of Nov 2021. The drinks were more expensive and the alcohol used was the cheapest. The staff were friendly but didn't have good comments about the owners of the place when we asked them about the music variety. Staff commented that they were not treated well by the co-owner "Lilly". That they were unable to speak up their concerns or clients concerns. They are afraid to get fired because she is so rude and arrogant. Was difficult to believe and we decided to approach the co-owner and she was so arrogant, not open to be friendly and to listen to her customers. Instead she answered with a rude and angry voice thar she was bothered by the comments. My husband and me were already leaving the place and she was so arrogant sending her security to follow us. We didn't do anything wrong and we regretted that we just tried to help her with our input. Her ego is up to the moon & instead of saying thank you and to be friendly she felt bothered. Also, I need to mention that if customers don't pay with cash then customer MUST pay additional 5 dollars if paying with credit card. Since when the additional fee was implemented? We didn't pay that amount before and we were not told before ordering about the additional charge. We will not go back to that place. They abuse the tourists with low quality and overpriced drinks. Overpriced food as well. Just to give you an idea, we went to the fine steakhouse Garufa next to changos. Our bill was 83 and we got excellent quality food and drinks. We ordered a Lomo, with a side of French fries, new York steak with a side of grilled vegetables, a tortilla soup, Greek salad, guacamole, 4 beers. The quality was Excellent! At the bar we got 2 Cadillac margaritas, 1 whisky, 1 bottle of water, 2 plates with 6 shrimps and chili filed with cheese. We got charged 98 plus tip 25%.More

My husband and I went here twice on our vacation and really had a great time both times. The restaurant is sprawled out from a pretty large interior out to some seats on their boardwalk area and then lots of seating on the beach with...your feet in the sand. There are dozens of waitstaff and they all work fast and hard to make sure you get fed well. Food quality is delicious—- as a vegetarian I didn’t have a TON of options- got the quesadillas one time and the nachos supreme the next time. I would have loved some Mexican options like cheese enchiladas or a bean burrito. All in all- we recommend!More

My family stopped by for dinner in October. We ate outside and other tables were at a safe distance--and all servers wore masks. Food and drinks, as usual, were good and affordable. Always a fun time at the Reef.

This restaurant is doing very well in their handling of things during COVID-19. They are taking every precaution they can to provide a safe environment for everyone. They test your temperature before you enter, give you hand sanitizer and sanitize your shoes. All patrons must...wear masks unless you are seated at your table. The staff all wear gloves, face masks, and a face shield. They also are using one use paper menus for both their food and their drinks. All of their tables are social distanced apart. They even have different staff that take your order, deliver your food, take away items and handle payment. All of these measures make you feel very safe in visiting this establishment. Their hours are unexpected, but they tend to be open on the weekends, I believe Thursday through Sunday for the most part. Their guacamole and chips are delicious and it is quite a big portion. All of their mixed drinks are very well done and are very tasty. They have a decent selection of beers and they are very affordable. One of the best things about this place is the atmosphere. There is nothing like enjoying your food and drinks with a gorgeous view of the ocean. This is one of our favorite stops in Puerto Penasco and we look forward to it every time. During the day it is very kid friendly and our whole family enjoys it. Pros: *Beautiful setting *Delicious guacamole *Friendly and efficient staff *Great COVID-19 measures being taken *Good prices *Decent beer options Cons: *Occasional flies outside, but never too badMore

Definitely a tourist destination. It felt more like Arizona than Mexico. It is a great beach front location with live music and fun people watching especially the patrons dancing feeling no pain. It was odd to us receiving menus with prices in dollars. This was...not legal when we had our restaurant in Mexico. We were paying in pesos and the check reflected dollars with a 21 peso exchange. The highest we saw while visiting. We asked if we could exchange dollars for pesos. lol. Our server Francisco saved the day with quick wit and great service. We ordered a bucket of Dos Equis, they were super cold, two virgin pina coladas, guacamole & chips, a Mexican shrimp cocktail, a combo basket of fried shrimp & flounder, a chicken bacon avocado sandwich and fish tacos. The Mexican cocktail was a little light on the shrimp but tasty & not to syrupy sweet. The fish was cooked perfectly. The chips that accompanied the basket & sandwich were not good. Soft & soggy. Overall the food was fine. I would guess most people come for the entertainment, beach front & cocktails. You do pay more because of the location. Not a place that we would do again.More

We always go to Wrecked for the beach view and atmosphere, and are always let down with the quality of food and drinks, even though we know what to expect. Our service was quite unfriendly this time though, we normally will spend hours at a...place like this but left after one drink each and our subpar food. My husbands sandwich had the driest bread I've ever seen, the rest was ok. It's such a cool place I really wish they would up their game. I did leave with a $40 tank top though and I'm sure we will be back again...More

We were so excited to come back and visit one of our favorite places after Covid but it was AWFUL. Danny was our waiter and he was terrible. It took over 90 minutes to get chips and salsa. We asked three times to please bring...the fourth time we asked to not bring. They brought the chips and salsa and guacamole with the food and refused to take off bill and made us pay. Not the same place beg not to get Danny as your waiterMore

Ithe location is great with ample seating inside and plenty of outdoor seating with bands playing on weekends. Everything we’ve tried from Chicken wings to the seafood baskets are fantastic! I wails live to give this place several stars but am unable to. This is...probably one of the best jobs in RP and we noticed all the waiters and bartenders are men. The only women working hand out paper towels in the bathroom. The owners are obviously not in touch with the local economy. and the need for young women to make a decent living as well as the men in the area. kinda jacked up! Just sayinMore

Have enjoyed the Mexican hospitality during a girls trip to Rocky Point. We decided to check out Wrecked at the Reef. It was packed. Beautiful beach side restaurant with great atmosphere. Food was delicious! Now for the part that was very disappointing. We got a...new waiter, Juan, the service was incredibly slow. They had to search for him when we needed something instead of handling it themselves. I understand Juan probably was overwhelmed. I never had a chance to ask him about a lemonade that I ordered. It was in my opinion not consumable. After we finally got him back to ask for the bill I asked him to remove the $2 drink from the bill. He came back informing me his manager, Carlos, refused. He would pay for it. My friend and I didn't feel that was right so we paid for the drink. It's sad that such a popular place would not rate customer service as a top priority. I guess they get enough tourists that they can dismiss customer concerns. It's a shame.. Not sure I'd go back. I'd rather support other Mexican businesses that pride themselves on good customer service.More

The inside is very clean and neat. Several tv's had football on. Outside there is a bar, tables with frond coverings and band stand. The service was great, the young man very personable. Shrimp and fish basket weren't overcooked or greasy. Fish was flaky and...not overly battered. Best French fries I've had in a long time. Drink prices were average. The band was Hillson; singer was really good, did variety of songs. They weren't noisy loud, so you could hear others and hear the singer! Enjoyable time!More

This is a solid F for fail! Food took over 2 1/2 hours to come even with little kids. I think Gerry didn’t forgot to put our order in. Spoke to manager and he shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say a word! This guy doesn’t...know how to deal with people or provide exceptional service. They need serious training. We will not return as there are other options in Rocky point where you will get faster service with full accountability. If you do decide to go, eat at home first and go for music and drinks. Food not worth waiting for. Overall a sucky experience.More
