Budget airline Tigerair Taiwan (IT) operates from a hub at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Founded in 2013, it was the country’s first low-cost carrier. The airline is jointly owned by China Airlines (CI), Tiger Airways Holdings and Mandarin Airlines (AE). Tigerair Taiwan flies to eight destinations: Japan’s Naha Airport (OKA), Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Narita International Airport (NRT); Macau International Airport (MFM); Singapore Changi Airport (SIN); Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), which is Taiwan’s third-busiest airport; and Thailand’s Don Mueang International Airport (BKK). The airline has a fleet of seven Airbus A320-200, each of which holds 180 passengers.

Reasons why I would never fly Tigerair line again: 1. No refund/flexibility tickets even though their tickets are almost just as expensive as major airlines. 2. No customer service support via website. Made a mistake , good luck reaching someone. 3. No online checkin . Need to line up very early. 4. Non stop advertising for their duty free promotions ENTIRE flight. trying to get you to buy something all flight. Can’t sleep at all… 5. No email reminders for flights . Missed my flight as I got my date wrong as it was midnight. Typically you get a reminder to check in but of course they don’t have online check in. So missed my flight and ticket was worthless. Had to rebook at absolute highest price. Better off flying else where. 6. Luggage weight is to the dot. No exception. Every luggage gets tagged. Never again. Peach is a way better experience. Thought I support local but Tigerair line is not even owned by Taiwan it’s owned by china airlines.…

Worst check-in experience; it didn’t allow me to check-in online and pay for the luggage, ending up paying double at airport!! And staff didn’t honor the website price considering the problem on their website! The ridiculous part was that you are not allowed to pay for a 20 Kg luggage at airport, only 15 or 30 kg!!! I do not recommend this airline at all.…

This airline is a joke. I landed inTPE at 4:20 PM and got or luggage at 5:37 PM. For the money saved, it is totally n o t worth.

I have NEVER had an airline experience as bad as with Tiger. They will nickel and dime you for all your bags (even asking me to weigh my disposable bag with my neck pillow and body purse holding my phone, wallet, and passport), forced me to rearrange my bags for a “bag count” - no use of common sense only “policy” - price ended up almost 3X initial ticket as they count carry on weight too. Do yourself a favor, don’t ruin your day, DONT FLY TIGER…

I understand that I booked a low-cost airline, and I shouldn't be expecting good quality service, but I did not expect to experience such poor service either. We arrived at the airport around 2 hours ahead of the flight, but the airport is very packed. So the check-in and custom took us more than 1 hour. This was not the airline's fault, understand that. Each customer were only allowed to take 2 bags, so we could take 4. The bags were all checked already at the check-in counter. We were below the weight limit, so I thought we are good. The flight is at 7 pm, I am alone with my five-year old son, we did not have enough time, as we arrived at the gate just half an hour before it boards. There is ONLY one noodle shop outside the gate, so we ordered a take away thinking we might be able to eat it at the flight. At the entrance as we were to board on the plane, the flight attendant told me my small cross-body bag should be counted as well, so I was carrying five instead of four. She asked me to rearrange it a bit before getting on the plane, so it is only 4 pieces of luggage. I mean... I don't mind the embarrassment, but it is certainly VERY inconvenient as I need to take all the bags out again together with my son, only to make sure that I "look like" having four bags. The flight was delayed for around an hour because they do not have enough spaces to store all the luggage brought my customers. Eventually, they have to move the bags of more than 10 customers over to the compartment. The worst part comes when we are finally seated and the plane took off. We took out the food we bought to eat as we are STARVING. The same lady came over again, telling me we are not supposed to consume food bought outside. I did not want to make a drama, so I just quietly put away the food. I thought we could buy something on the plane to eat, but the menu states normal food will not be served for flight under 2 hours, so there is ONLY instant noodles we can buy. I felt so anxious the whole flight because my son and I were starving while having food just in front of me.... T.T I really don't think this is the way you should treat your customers despite you wish to make as much money as possible from customers. And I really believe that low-cost airline does not mean low-quality service. A terrible experience telling me if I have a choice, never go for low-cost airline again! …
