Is This Love Or Just Programming?

Cyborg She follows the burgeoning romance between an ordinary college student and his sassy love interest - who happens to be a time-traveling cyborg with superhuman powers. One day, a beautiful cyborg girl appears in front of a dull university student. Even though the cyborg starts to like him, she can’t truly feel emotions, so the boy has no choice but to say goodbye. Missing her, he continues his lonely existence. One day, a disastrous earthquake hits Tokyo and the cyborg girl saves his life. In that moment, she starts to have feelings like a real human being.

A really cool thing from the Rom-Com shelf with probably the most beautiful cyborg seen on screens in recent years. So, a girl appears to a student, who is actually a robot sent from the future, the guy teaches her to live by human rules and, oh, or , fell in love. It's hard to condemn this: after all, the cyborg girl is the most real.
.
But at the moment when you start to forget that the girl is just such a well-constructed piece of black, the film's intrigue begins to appear, why and why such a cyborg girl appeared in the first place and what is her task. How about without some apocalypse? Well, nothing!.
The ending is full of a little sad pathos, but overall a very positive movie.

Similar to the Film Terminator, a Cyborg comes from the Future to find a Certain Person and to.................. LOVE him and Help him .
I like the Movie.
Maybe because the Movie is a bit Crazy and soooo Romantic 😜❤️ and because Haruka Ayase is probably the most Charming Cyborg I've seen. 🤷‍♀️

So it's a decent movie with a terrific first act. Lots of things to love here. I really thought I had stumbled onto a real unseen gem… until the 2nd part of the movie hit and it became a jumbled mess. Now I don't think it's that big of a mess narratively at that point per se, I'm used to convoluted time travel plots, but the lead characters are all over the place in terms of their interpersonal relationship. So when the finale hits, the movie has got nothing to show for it and it kinda fizzles out to a ridiculous ending that fails to land.
However, it's still a fun, relentless, and incredibly creative movie with a strong sense…

Anata no kokoro kanjiru ... I feel your heart
This is the most absurd blend of comedy and drama I’ve seen since Les Visiteurs and just as charming and good-natured. The title here literally translates to “my girlfriend is a cyborg” and honestly the hijinks befits the name while still keeping more than a few surprises to itself 🤵❤️🤖

A funny, emotional and kinetic action-romcom-drama boasting strong production values – and though I’d have sworn Cyborg She was based on a manga, the opposite is true.
While the title conjures up thoughts of Nishimura, Iguchi and Tomomatsu, this is a much slicker affair. Now, this isn’t to disparage those fellas, whose avocations I greatly enjoy, but this is a mostly different beast that happens to share some of the Japanese shock/gore/comedy subgenre’s DNA.

Once upon a 2007 Birthday, Jiro is minding his own business when a pretty girl takes over the evening. She steals clothes. She has them run away from paying for his Birthday meal. Then she tells him she has to go & she’d visited him from the future in a time machine.

On his 20th birthday a lonely student (Keisuke Koide) meets a girl (Haruka Ayase) who claims to be a robot send by him from the future...
No, this is not a Terminator rip-off but rather a lovely variation of the MY SASSY GIRL formula, also directed by Kwak Jae-yong. What starts off as a quirky romcom becomes a much deeper story taking some nice twists and turns right until the very last scene.
I always admire, when movies can make me care about characters who aren't human and CYBORG SHE totally pulls it off. The platonic relationship between Koide's character and the robot joyfully plays with genre tropes almost leading to a deconstruction of that genre.

This is a film made for my specific tastes. Dramatic SF romcom with action thrown in for good measure. Clearly belongs on my Fav Rom and Drama SF/Fantasy list, but rather unique among the entries.
Best to go into it blind, so won't discuss anything. Also the description for this on LB gives away too much, but luckily never checked it out. The title and poster were all I needed to blind buy the DVD 😄. If you like a lot of the films on my favs list linked above, this one is worth consideration 👍.

From South Korean writer/director Kwak Jae-Young comes Cyborg She a romantic comedy with time travel twists and Haruka Ayase playing a cyborg.
Now Jae-Young made two fantastic romcoms with My Sassy Girl and Windstruck and Haruka Ayase is no less gorgeous than Jun Ji-hyun. Keisuke Koide does a decent job as the male lead too.
But sadly Cyborg She still fell flat for me. The story suffers from a sluggish pace and totally out of place, random set pieces. And I’m not talking about Jun Ji-hyun not looking at explosions in Windstruck. I’m talking about sudden post-apocalyptic earth quakes.
And then there’s the typical romcom plot points, this time around even more worse because our lovely time travelling cyborg already…
