Creative & Performing Arts High School Reviews
Rating 3.88 out of 5 314 reviews
My overall experience with the Creative and Performing Arts High School is good. I learned a lot, made many new friends, and got many opportunities to develop my art and passions. The worst part would probably be the sort of lack of emphasis on STEM but also the best parts would be the emphasis on the arts. I would add more extracurriculars to the school.
Great experience for my child. The academics and the teachers were always available. The communication with the teacher was amazing. The teachers would contact parents and were available to speak with parents and students. The majors kept the students engaged, educated and interested. The CAPA community was very nice. The best part of my experience as a parent was that I was able to communicate with staff frequently. The worst part was the not having a variety of sports or afterschool clubs. I think giving the children something other than their major is important and give them a chance in engage in, learn, and build other skills. I also think they should allow students to enter in a minor during their high experience. My student entered as a dance major, however want to do MDTV (Media minor). They informed her that she could minor in MDTV, but when she became a student an Dance Major and inquired about how to minor in MDTV, there was no help and wasn't allowed to enter the minor.
CAPA is a very diverse and unique school, with multiple creative and performing arts majors, all of which collaborate and learn from one another. Each student is prepared for their life after high school, whether it be for college, trade school, or careers, by an outstandingly supportive team of teachers and staff. I wouldn't trade my experience here for any other school.
