John Benitez

John Benitez, age 76, entered into rest on Friday, November 27, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 22, 1945. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Benitez, his parents Antonio and Bertha Benitez. He is survived by his daughters Geri Benitez, Jackie Perez and her husband Steve. His grandchildren Sara Luevanos, Salome Luevanos, Kalina Ardila and Adam Ardila. His favorite little ones, great-grandchildren Jolene Grace Espinoza, Lila Jacqueline Espinoza. "We love you Pappy!!"" His sisters Emma Salas, Frances Beitel and her husband Richard, Dory Benitez and Patricia Roy. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. John served the community primarily as an officer in the Del Rio Fire Department, he began as a car salesman, and business owner. In his latter career he earned his real estate license and retired after assisting in the education of middle school students in San Angelo. His favorite hobbies include fishing, hunting, and "burning meat". He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
