John Braden Obituary

I just learned that John has passed away. I hope that my cousin and her children are doing ok. Such a shock to learn that John is gone and they are not a happy happy family anymore! I hope that the smiles will return when you think of him healthy and happy in heaven with all of the family we have lost!

I had the privilege and opportunity to work with John just after starting my career in tax. He was a very nice, considerate, and warm man. John will be greatly missed. The Lord bless your family.

John prepared my taxes every year since about 1972. In addition he was a trusted financial advisor and friend to me and my mother. I don't know how I will manage all the affairs he handled for me for so many years. May God bless him and his family.

John Braden was my neighbor, good friend, and my accountant for many years. Most of all he was a good, honest Christian man. I will miss him because of the things above, but most of all, I will just miss John Braden. Heavens doors have opened for this wonderful man.

I remember John offering me my first real job as I filled his order at the BK drive thru window.
Not only was he a mentor during the eight years I worked for him, but he also provided me with fatherly advise. I am another Accountant inspired by John and with his guidance he helped me spread my wings to venture corporate America. He was kind, understanding and never judged you for your actions, instead guided you into the right direction.

John, we will miss you. Rest in the arms of Jesus.

I go back many years with John and will remember the good times we had attending Practice Council Meetings years ago.

John Braden was my mentor and friend. He hired me as a bookkeeper in 1978. He encouraged me to go back to school. I finally became a CPA in 1986 with his help and encouragement. He changed my life. I would still be working for John if my husband had not been transferred to Dallas. It was the best job I ever had. I have many fond memories of parties with Leilani and John. I know he is in heaven now. God bless Leilani and the girls. You will see him again someday and he will live in your hearts forever.

You lost a good HUSBAND and I lost a good friend. When I talked to him about a month ago he told me that he was doing much better. I have had him in my prayers since he told me about his kidney problems.

When I lost my wife I was in a state of shock. People will tell you how they know what you are feeling but each died is different. So just remember that there are people who will
help you get thru this time in your life.

I am sorry that I will be in Austin and can't make the funeral but I will be there in my mine.

I will give you a call next week to see how you are doing.

John was always willing to impart wisdom and share knowledge with less experienced colleagues. John was a mentor to myself, and many other CPAs and peer reviewers. However, as enthusiastic as John was about the CPA profession – it never surpassed the appreciation that he had for his family ... as he was always quick to share a story! There is no better of a gift than that. John's humility, hard work and integrity will continue to inspire those who knew him.

John and I worked on the Professional Ethics Committee of the Texas Society of CPAs, where other Texas CPAs on the committee got to know and love him as we did in Houston. We will miss you, John.

This is a sad day for those of us who knew John. I worked for and with him for many years and will always be grateful for his patience, intelligence and being a mentor to me and so many others.

I worked for John Braden for several years. John was a thoughtful, kind and gracious man. He was also very good at anything he did. I am grateful to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family that he dearly loved.

I was so sorry to hear this news. I will never forget what a great person he was to work with and also be a member of the church with. He will be missed!

I am greatly saddened by John's passing. We had talked by phone only a few weeks ago and we were planning to visit for lunch this month if he was not back in the hospital. I have known John for more than 30 years and we worked together on several projects throughout Texas. He even traveled as far as New Jersey and Michigan to help me on some of my projects. John was always upbeat in the face of adversity and he bravely fought what I had prayed would be a winning battle against kidney disease. I will miss John and his great wit and our numerous conversations. Rest in Peace.

John was a very special man and he will be missed. We went to school together and I was lookimg forward to seeing him at the upcoming reunion. Deepest sympathy to the family. May you find comfort in your many wonderfuln memories.

John was a classmate at Westbury High School '63. He had tremendous spirit and made many contributions to various organizations and events. We had dinner a couple of years ago, and I admired his spirit and resilience in dealing with adversities. May he rest in peace. -Mark Krinsky, Houston

John was a great boss to work with for 12 years. He was a great teacher and mentor. I thank him for the opportunity all those years ago to be his Tax Manager and spread my wings. He was preparing me for the next chapter in my career and I totally appreciate all he did for me. May he RIP and watch over us/over our shoulders and protect us and his family now and in the future.

I knew John professionally for almost 20 years. He was a gentlemen to deal with.

John and I were CPA buddies and served together on several State CPA committees including the Peer Review Committee, The Management of Accounting Practice Committee, and the Political Action Committee (our most recent service together). In addition we were both active and loyal Alumni of the University of Houston and attended many sports events together plus participated in many Alumni Activities involving fund raising. I had visited with John very recently by phone while he was still in Methodist Hospital and he was in his usual high spirits although realistic about his health. He always spoke warmly of his family and his love for them. I miss John already and offer my help to the family as needed. Prayers and hugs.

John was one of the most wonderful men that I've ever know he was kind and generous in everything that he did we love him very much we're going to miss you very much I pray that the familygets through this knowing that God has him wrapped in his arms my prayers are with you.knowing you the past 40 years has been a blessing

John was ever so kind and loving to me when I was privileged to serve on the staff of Klein United Methodist Church, all those years ago. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

John you will be missed. When I moved to Houston about 16 years ago you gave me a job and it was the start up of my CPA working career. For the three years I lived in Houston I could not ask for a better job. I still today use things that was taught to me by you. The cross necklace you gave staff still hangs in my car after all these years. RIP John

I knew John well at Westbury and shortly at U of H. but lost touch when I moved away from Houston. It seems all too often our fellow Rebels are passing on. Since Signe and Geoff's deaths I have heard of far too many who have passed away. John and I were just days apart in age. May God Bless the Braden family in this sadden time in their lives. John was my friend for more than 35 years. We have worked together and been all over the world together. He was a consummate professional. Although he is in a better place now, and there is no pain, he left this earth before his time. I will miss him greatly. This man, and his family, were endless supporters of life and our community. I will miss John Braden, but I still have many happy memories from my youth spent with the Bradens.

My deepest and most sincere condolences on the loss of John. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Society of CPAs for many years and was a wonderful volunteer for the TSCPA serving on many committees. His last email to me indicated his desire to get involved with even more committees. John will be greatly missed by many of his colleagues at the TSCPA and all the staff liaisons who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.
