A very impressive and modern museum with sections about the history of Shandong Province, art and archaeology, fossils (including dinosaurs).

An easy walk from Spring City Square and Daming Lake, this tranquil park offers rare glimpses of large spring sources. The water is noticeably clear with plenty of koi fish for amusement. My Chinese wife purchased the tickets with her phone for only ¥20. This was by far the best of similar destinations, including our recent trip to Suzhou. During the Summer, you can opt to take a water taxi from the park "harbor" for a 10 - ¥60 upcharge.

Daming Lake is a small lake with 6 islands and is surrounded by a park. It was formed by many springs and has a big fountain in the middle. Traditional boats were on the lake and we walked along a pathway under willow trees, past gardens and pavilions. A striking feature were the lotus lilies with huge leaves on much of the lake. This park is a good short stop for those on busy tours looking for some tranquility.

We did not expect to find a so nice corner in Jinan. We bad just few hours to spend sightseeing and the visit of the park was nice: a lot of typical products and above sll the huge HaHa Buddah and the Thousand Buddahs cave made the trip very pleasant!

This is really a fun place to visit in Jinan. It is located in the southern edge of the old city and it's free entry. It is both very active if one wants to or peace and calm in certain areas, making this a place suitable for all. Locals come for their water supply with jars and jugs in tow. Some of them came for their morning walks or exercise. The views are beautiful whichever way you look. The moat and the springs make this spot a comfortable walk even in the hot summer days.

There’s lots of great food on the 6th floor and the higher you go the cleaner the toilets. High end shops, good for window shopping and enjoying the aircon. It was a nice break from the busy streets and some of there staff in there have a little English. Very friendly.

Thousand Buddha Cliff statues were carved during the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD) and the ancient buildings are beautiful.

In the evening, this ancient commercial street was crowded with tourists, many of whom were trying out the local Chinese cuisine and snacks.

This temple is out of the way for the typical tour group and is not easy to get to. It is not crowded because of its remote location. The setting was beautiful, no hoards of tourists. It is a very old temple and the area is not huge. The highlight was the clay figures over thousand years old. Each figure's facial features, hand gestures and robes were different. The color was still vivid. Another area of interest was the stupors for the head monks over the centuries. It is the second largest burial ground after the Shiaolin temple.

If you've got a bit of time before or after visiting Daming Lake, then this is well worth popping into. It is 10 mins walk from the North-East entrance of the lake. It has mass in Chinese at 6.30pm on Saturday and Sunday and there is a lovely Chinese community there.

This park was very huge, consisting of many gardens. I entered by the east entrance, which was quiet and peaceful. As I walked towards the north gate, which was the main entrance, it was very crowded with many families gathering at the kid’s playground, boat rides in the pond, food and game stalls.
It was a Saturday afternoon, hence many locals were having picnics especially in this section of the park. There was even an area where rows of placards were displayed - singles advertising for match making.
Major parts of the gardens were rather barren, due to the cold weather in late March. I suppose visiting here in later months will be ideal to enjoy the gardens. Nevertheless, there were few peach blossom trees blooming with beautiful pink flowers.
Entrance is free. One can easily spend 2 hours leisurely enjoying the park.

Best to buy the 3 attraction combo ticket that also includes Baotu Springs and Damming Lake. Fun foot paths wind through this shaded park. Good on a hot day.
