A highlight of the Edison High School experience is its vibrant extracurricular activities. From sports teams to clubs and organizations covering a diverse array of interests, students have ample opportunities to get involved outside the classroom. These activities not only foster a sense of community and belonging but also allow students to explore their passions and develop valuable skills. However, like any educational institution, Edison High School also faces its share of challenges. One common concern among students is the size of the school and its impact on individualized attention and support. With a large student population, some students may feel overwhelmed or lost in the crowd, struggling to connect with teachers or access resources when needed.
As a senior at Edison High, I have been give a lot of resources to help me take the right next steps to my future. Weather it be college, university or gap year. There are a lot of webinars online and in-person that help with application and FAFSA and other import aspects.
I graduated Edison High school in 1983. My graduating class was not very diverse. We had one Indian kid, 2 Asians, both from Phillipines, 2 black kids. Now it's almost all Asian and Indian.
I love EHS. I just wish that the food would be fully cooked properly. Specifically sensitive foods such as chicken or meats, rice, and vegetables. I also with that teachers would have control over heating and cooling in their own classrooms.
My overall experience at Edison High School was subpar. Teachers could be extremely judgmental and unhelpful and there was a lot of targeting on certain students for petty reasons. I enjoyed my overall experience simply because of Mr. Ross, an amazing principal, and I met some of my closest friends at this institution.
The teachers at Edison High School are there giving the best help a student can get. From athletics to academics, there is always a form of team work in Edison High School. My personal favorite thing about Edison High School is the school spirit ! Just as our principal say “you can’t hide, that eagle pride” !
I enjoyed the people and the environment that made up Edison High. Our principal was great and our advisors were very helpful! I also enjoyed our student involvement and the clubs that we had.
Some teachers are really great and want their students to succeed and some really don’t seem to care. Athletes are given a lot more than any academic scholars. During the school day bathrooms were locked and no announcements were ever made. Overall, this place is very disorganized, very last minute, does not hold many students or teachers accountable and plays clear favoritism.
I love how diverse the school’s student body is as you learn a lot about different kinds of cultures. In addition to that, there are many different elective options students can choose to meet their interests.
However, anything can be improved including schools. For instance, the teachers can be trained better.

The school has been decent with its diverse student body and incredible principle. Many of the teachers have been kind, caring, and understanding when I was stressed at times but there have also been teachers that completely misunderstood their role in student teaching and did not help us in cultivating our love for learning.
I really loved EHS because I was able to figure out who I am as a person and realized what my passions were.
Edison High School is a school that supports students academically and personally. We excel in sports and support one another. The only downfall would be the size/population, as it can be seen as being overpopulated.
The principal, counselors, and most teachers are awesome because they provide excellent guidance on various topics as needed. Mr. Charles Ross, the principal, has an infectious energy that puts people at ease. There are numerous extracurricular activities to keep the students engaged in the school community.
Overcrowding and large class sizes are a problem. Some students have been caught smoking/vaping the bathrooms and hallway fights have been known to happen.

Being At the Edison high school for 4 years has taught me to understand myself and figure out who I am as a person
Great diversity, enjoyed my experience there. The school provides new back books to use during the school year during your time at the school. Newly renovated auditorium. Smart boards are being added to classrooms as well. Priority is sports with fairly new renovated fields. Wish art programs received more attention. AMAZING dance program, curtesy of Ms. Jenkins, a formers steps on broadway instructor.
Although I've only spent one year at EHS physically because of the pandemic, there are quite a few things I've come to love about it. Almost all of the teachers I've had at EHS so far have been phenomenal, we are provided with mac-books to use throughout the school year, and the music program that I'm a part of is a very closely-knit and welcoming community. Only thing I would say is that Edison is a very highly populated town, which means our average sized high school is packed to the brim. In the first and last few weeks of school the lack of air conditioning can be a bit torturous, especially in the 2nd floor classrooms, but over this summer (2022) the school is being renovated and air conditioning added to a few of the larger spaces (ie. the cafeteria, auditorium, etc). Overall I'd say that EHS is a great school with a lot of great people, as a student I'd highly recommend!
It's a wonderful place to be and grow in, I really do love it here at Edison High School in New Jersey
