International schools

International schools traditionally follow standardised international teaching programmes (International Baccalaureate). The primary teaching language is English (or another language other than Dutch).

There are 3 public international schools in Amsterdam and 1 in Amstelveen.

Amsterdam International Community School (AICS)

The Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) is a public international school offering primary and secondary education, as well as special education and vocational training.

De Nieuwe Internationale School Esprit (DENISE)

De Nieuwe International School Esprit (DENISE) is a school for pupils of all nationalities aged from 4 to 18.

ALASCA

ALASCA was founded in 2016 as an Esprit school offering pre-university education (vwo & vwo+) and senior general secondary (havo) education to the children in Amsterdam.  ALASCA offers the English International Baccalaureate diploma programme for both Dutch and international children in Amsterdam.

International School of Amsterdam (ISA) - Amstelveen

The International School of Amsterdam (ISA) in Amstelveen offers 3 programmes: the Primary Years (ages 3-11), the Middle Years (ages 11-16) and the Diploma Years (16-18).
