The starters and main courses arrived at the same time after a lengthy wait. One of the drinks was different every time it was ordered. The service by our main waiter (in the green jacket) was very good the others didn’t seem that bothered. It was ok but nothing fantastic.

Very nice restaurant. Food was average. The “Bomb” dessert was awesome. Overall, great service, pricy and average food. Teen next to me ordered a hamburger, was 5 inches tall and had to deconstruct it to eat.

The service was excellent, food really tasty and desserts spectacular! We were made to feel special and the atmosphere was great in a very beautiful setting! We had a particularly lovely and efficient young waitress who said she loved her job! 😀

The list is long and life is short so let me focus on the highlights: 1. The place was freezing and I had to ask several times until they lowered the strength of the air conditioning. The waiters did not have too friendly an attitude. 2. I was asked three times whether I suffer from allergens but not told even once that the main dish I had ordered was not available and was brought something else instead, another fish, no shrimps and no mashed potatoes. After some negotiations they agreed to add mashed potatoes without charging extra. They should have offered it from the start. That is basic. 3. The soup I ordered was poured in front of me in a theatrical manner only to discover that it was cold. I returned it asking for it to be heated. Perhaps I am too demanding. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere unless you are impressed by or in desperate need of 'fancy schmancy' allure with rather mediocre quality of food. I have eaten at at far less pretentious restaurants around the world, where the quality of the food was far superior and the service was lovely. Honestly, I don't know what the fuss about this place is about. Maybe people here have low standards.

The 3 of us had all eaten here before for different occasions and had all really enjoyed it, hence why we returned. I am pleased to say that this time was no different and we had a really lovely evening . Everything from the general decor, service, food and drink was first class. Our waitress and waiter were very nice and service was perfectly paced. All of the food was excellent but I particularly enjoyed my Monkfish and Prawn curry. No complaints from any of us about anything. I often find noise in large restaurants/bars makes it difficult for conversation but although it was busy there was no issue at all. Just a nice ambience. I am sure we will be back and I would recommend a visit here without hesitation.

It was a Birthday gift voucher I had been given, so I booked it, not really knowing much about The Ivy. My daughter came with me, and we had a wonderful experience. Table service was very slow. We had pre -booked the set menu, however we had to request to seethe menu. Poor communication between booking team and table service team, so service wasn’t all that. Food was very good.

I took my friend as an 80th birthday treat as she’d never eaten at The Ivy before. She was delighted with the whole occasion and was so touched when the staff brought out a dessert with a sparkler in to mark the occasion.

We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile by the receptionist upon entry! Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive throughout, never too pushy but frequently making sure that we (my wife and I) were satisfied! The food was very delicious and well presented. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

ON ARRIVAL WE WERE PLEASANTLY GREETED AND SHOWN TO OUR TABLE. THE TABLE APPEARED TO BE BETWEEN TWO PILARS WHICH WE REALISED MUST BE A WALK WAY. THE OVERCROWDING WAS RIDICULOUS AND THE NOISE LEVEL WAS ALSO RIDICULOUS AND WERE WERE UNABLE TO HOLD A CONVERSATION. THE SERVICE WAS ADEQUATE BUT THE FOOD WAS NOT. THERE WERE NO INTERVALS BETWEEN THE COURSES AND WE WERE OUT IN AN HOUR!! THE FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AS BEST. ONE OF US HAD STEAK ON A PLATE, LITERALLY, SO NO POINTS FOR PRESENTATION AND ONE OF US HAD CHICKEN IN BREADCRUMBS - TASTELESS. THINK THE CHEF WAS NOT A FAN OF SEASONING OR TASTE. OVERALL WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AS THIS WAS OUR 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSAY AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS WAS THE PLACE TO GO TO CELEBRATE. SO WE PAID £184 FOR A VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER, WE WENT ON TO THE CROWN IN LYNDHURST THE FOLLOWING EVENING AND HAD ONE OF THE BEST MEALS AND WE'VE EATEN IN SOME VERY FINE RESTUARANTS. SO TO SUM IT UP. NOT WORTH THE MONEY, NOT GOOD FOOD AND NOT A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE.

Unable to provide main courses due to kitchen technical problems which is unpredictable and out of their hands but still happily charged me full price for drinks and not a complementary free drink at all regarding the wait for nearly an hour for them to inform us about the kitchen situation

I had booked the Ivy for my birthday but sadly we could not eat our meal due to a power cut that affected the kitchen which was quite disappointing as we had already ordered our food and this was meant to be a special occasion. I've normally really enjoyed my time at the Ivy but the staff were great. It's just a shame that this was happened on my birthday.

Really perfect evening. I’d forgotten to mention it was our birthdays and nonetheless even with the short notice they pulled out a lovely celebration pudding for each of us at the end of our meal. Thank you.

Main courses bought to the table before the starter. The 2nd drink order was wrong. When the main courses were bought to the table a second time the fish was very smelly and watery. The bill was wrong, we were overcharged. There was an extra drink on in. It was awful. Our 2nd awful visit so will not be going back.

Waiter /Manager was overly loud whilst discussing the anaphylaxis discussions that affects our 16 year old son. We have eaten at many of the Ivy restaurants and we were not comfortable in the manner it was dealt with. It felt as though we were not welcome and brought unwanted attention to our table. He needs a lesson on how to be discrete.
