Week 9’s NFL games today schedule features three divisional matchups, all of which will kick off on Sunday afternoon. The game of the week is easily the AFC East battle between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
The Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers are on a bye in Week 9. Below, we’ll provide information on how to watch every game on Sunday.

Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) at Atlanta Falcons (4-4)

The Week 9 NFL games today schedule begins with the Los Angeles Chargers making the coast-to-coast journey to take on the Atlanta Falcons. The Chargers come into this Week 9 matchup off their bye but are still hampered. WR Keenan Allen and Mike Williams have already been ruled out, and DeAndre Carter is questionable with an illness.
While Los Angeles has the better record, Atlanta is in first place in their division. Last week, a win over the Carolina Panthers gave Atlanta first place in the NFC South. The Falcons were able to find some room last week but should thrive against a lackluster Chargers rush defense.
Miami Dolphins (5-3) at Chicago Bears (3-5)

It’s all in on QB Tua Tagovailoa for the Miami Dolphins, and he’s earned that respect. Miami is 5-0 in games he has finished under center this season, and the lethality of the offense compared to a year ago is night and day. Given this development, the Dolphins went all in at the NFL trade deadline acquiring DE Bradley Chubb and RB Jeff Wilson Jr.

The Bears also head into Week 9 with a new addition after sending the Pittsburgh Steelers a 2023 second-round pick for WR Chase Claypool. Despite losing by 20 points to the Dallas Cowboys last week, the Bears’ offense continues to improve. Unfortunately, the combo of the Dolphins’ high-octane offense and the new pass-rush addition will be too much for Justin Fields and the Bears.
Carolina Panthers (2-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (4-4)

The Panthers head to Paycor Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. While the extra point was 15 yards longer than it should have been, the Panthers were a missed kick away from a jaw-dropping Hail Mary.
They play a Bengals team who looked lifeless Monday night against the Cleveland Browns. QB Joe Burrow will still be without WR Ja’Marr Chase, who continues to recover from a hip injury.
Carolina’s young defense has harassed teams all season. Can they pull off the upset against the Bengals? If the offensive line protects Burrow as they did in Week 8, the Panthers will have plenty of chances to keep it close.
Green Bay Packers (3-5) at Detroit Lions (1-6)

The first divisional matchup of the day features an NFC North tilt between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. While the Packers are tied for second in the NFC North, Green Bay sits three games behind the division-leading Minnesota Vikings.
The offense has struggled to find chemistry all season in the passing game. Luckily, for what they lack in offensive competency, their opponent lacks on the defensive side.
Detroit’s season has been extremely underwhelming. After so much offseason promise, the Lions have fallen flat, winning just one game in the first eight weeks. The offense has been one of the more productive units in the league, but the defense has been a sieve. With opponents scoring 32.1 points per game, it’s hard to reset time if Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ WRs can’t figure things out against the Lions.
Indianapolis Colts (3-4-1) at New England Patriots (4-4)

New England bounced back from a surprising loss to the Bears in Week 7 with a divisional win against the Jets in Week 8. They face off against another young and inexperienced quarterback this week, Bill Belichick’s favorite.
QB Sam Ehlinger was decent against the Commanders in Week 8, but the Colts ultimately lost. With Jonathan Taylor sidelined and Nyheim Hines traded to Buffalo, Ehlinger is in for a tough day against a stout Patriots defense. Expect New England’s defense to terrorize the Colts just like they did the Jets a week ago.
Buffalo Bills (6-1) at New York Jets (5-3)

Speaking of the Jets, they host the AFC East-leading Bills in this Week 9 divisional matchup. The start of the Jets season has been fantastic to watch, but it’s time to come back down to Earth. The loss to the Patriots was a gut punch after how well New York had been playing and how poorly New England looked. However, Zach Wilson looked like a second-year QB making too many major mistakes.

It will not get any easier when he faces the best defense in the league in Week 9. The Bills remain the best and most well-rounded team in the league. With an offense that scores easily and a defense that will shut anyone down, Buffalo extends their AFC East lead even further.
Minnesota Vikings (6-1) at Washington Commanders (4-4)

Six one-score wins and a blowout loss are on the Vikings’ résumé in 2022. How good are they? Kirk Cousins’ homecoming will be an excellent game to figure that out.
Minnesota hasn’t played well below their presumed potential on offense. A squad that seems ready to explode at any second has yet to have a commanding win.
Meanwhile, the Commanders have rallied behind Taylor Heinicke, rolling into the matchup on a three-game win streak. The defense has come alive with the pass rush living up to expectations. A win against a surging Commanders team would bolster Minnesota’s argument as an NFC contender. However, a loss starts to show who they really are, a good team whose gotten lucky.
Las Vegas Raiders (2-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)

The final early-afternoon game on the Week 9 schedule features the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. The mess in Las Vegas is more direr than in Jacksonville at the moment. The start of the Josh McDaniels Raiders’ tenure has been forgettable.
After acquiring All-Pro WR Davante Adams in the offseason, QB Derek Carr has regressed. Furthermore, the defense has given up back-breaking end-of-game collapses that would test any team’s confidence.
On the other side, the Jaguars are figuring things out. The roster was completely overhauled in the offseason bringing in talent from all over the league, and Trevor Lawrence is only in his second year under center.
Interestingly, the Jaguars are the only team with a positive point differential in the AFC South. While Jacksonville didn’t get a bye after playing in London, the Jaguars get back on track snapping the five-game losing streak.
Seattle Seahawks (5-3) at Arizona Cardinals (3-5)

The first of two games in the late afternoon window features the final divisional matchup of Week 9. The Seattle Seahawks head to the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals in an NFC West battle.
Seattle comes to Arizona fresh off defeating the darling New York Giants. They continue to play and excel in the style of football HC Pete Carroll has thrived in his entire career, and they look like a solid playoff team.
As for their opponent, even with the loss last week, the Cardinals’ offense is continuing to find momentum after the sluggish start to the season. DeAndre Hopkins’ return has helped get Kyler Murray back on track, but it won’t be enough to stop a sweep from Seattle. Geno Smith adds another win to his impressive season.
Los Angeles Rams (3-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5)

The afternoon’s final game sees two 2021 playoff teams look to rebound from a disastrous start to 2022. The Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offenses look nothing like they did a year ago. Tampa’s issues are almost exclusively associated with offensive line injuries. However, the Rams are struggling to find offensive momentum as a whole unit.

Given the struggles from both teams, expect the Buccaneers to bounce back this week. Tom Brady has been able to get on the same page as his receivers from time to time this season. Tampa strings enough plays together to keep them within striking distance of the NFC South.
Tennessee Titans (5-2) at Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

Sunday Night Football in Week 9 features an AFC tilt between two 5-2 teams. Despite an 0-2 start, the Titans have surged into first place in the AFC South, riding a five-game win streak. Injuries have hampered Tennessee, but they haven’t stopped them as they continue to overcome any obstacle through this run. However, the Kansas City Chiefs might be the challenge that stops the streak.
Tennessee was without starting QB Ryan Tannehill last week against the Houston Texans. While they clawed out a win relying on the legs of Derrick Henry, QB Malik Willis was asked to attempt just 10 passes, completing six of them. If Tannehill can’t play, this offense doesn’t have enough weapons and play-making ability to keep up with yet another top-notch Chiefs offense.
