Biography

Naoto Miyamoto (S'01–M'05) was born in Nagoya, Japan, on December 4, 1977. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2000, 2002, and 2005, respectively.
From 2005 to 2007, he was a Research Associate with the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), Tohoku University. In 2007, he became an Assistant Professor with NICHe. He is currently engaged in research on dynamically reconfigurable field programmable gate array (FPGA), 4-D FPGA using through silicon via, high-speed and large-scale measurement test element group of very large scale integration manufacturing variability, and high-speed and low-power forward error correction in wireless communication systems. His current research interests include novel architecture and algorithm of selfadaptable and selfevolutionary computing based on the dynamically reconfigurable technique.
Dr. Miyamoto received the Dean Award of the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in 2005, the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award of the 21st Century Center-of-Excellence Program at the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in 2005, and the Special Feature Award of the 12th Asia and South-Pacific Design Automation Conference University LSI Design Contest in 2007. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics Information and Communication Engineers.
