Local woman to compete on 'Jeopardy'
A local contestant will be on Wednesday's episode of "Jeopardy," fulfilling a childhood dream.
Jacqueline Hawkins is a professor of English at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and remembers the countless nights as a child she watched "Jeopardy" with her father.
"As long as I can remember, I've watched 'Jeopardy' and wanted to be on 'Jeopardy," Hawkins said.
That dream turned into a reality after she auditioned and was chosen for the show.
Hawkins said her experience was once in a lifetime.
“Not really a way to prepare for what it’s going to be like to sit down with contestants who are going to be there for the week and go through the whole experience on the stage when they're filming this show you've watched for years,” said Hawkins.
Hawkins said she's been auditioning for the show since 2008.
The episode was shot during a week in January, but it will air Wednesday night in the show's usual time slot.
