My son is a current sophomore and we are so impressed with Regis. Top-notch academics, tight-knit parent community, and a genuinely fantastic group of boys. As an incoming freshman, 2 years ago, we were worried - Would my son find his people? Could he manage the workload and the commute? Now, halfway through his time at Regis, we can confidently say it has been the best decision we could have made. He is happy, thriving, and academically challenged. Forever grateful to Regis.
Sending our sons to Regis High School in NYC has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. The school's commitment to academic excellence, character development, and fostering a strong sense of community is truly remarkable. Both boys have thrived academically and personally, and we couldn't be happier with their experience at Regis. From the dedicated faculty to the diverse student body, every aspect of the school has exceeded our expectations. It's a top-notch choice for parents seeking an exceptional education and a supportive environment for their child. Regis sets the standard for what a high school education (academically and personal growth) should be, and we're grateful to be a part of the Regis family. We see the growth and development of our boys being 'Men for others' and having such a special bond and brotherhood for life.
As expected, Regis High School greatly assisted my son in continuing his path towards academic excellence. He is a much smarter and confident young man than when he arrived 2 years ago. However, what I'm most please about is how the teachers and staff helped my wife and I in making him not just a smarter young man, but a better young man. At Regis they give the young men the inspiration and tools to serve others and become instruments of change. With Regis's help we've been able to make my son more aware of his duties to help others in need.
Yes, attending Regis will make your son a better student. But also, due to the community, teachers and staff, it will make him a better and stronger young man.

In the back-in-the-day NYC area the goal of good eighth-grade Catholic-schoolboys was, and I assume is, to "make Regis." Those of us who did, and survived till graduation, had four memorable years, starting with the realization that (1) we weren't the smartest kid in the class anymore, and (2) this made for easy camaraderie. I went on to three universities and degrees, for which Regis had prepared me well. I am very grateful for the Regis experience, as are many other alumni, to judge from their continuing financial support--the least we can offer in belated return for our tuition-free education!
Regis is a wonderful school. Friendly students and parents. Supportive faculty and staff. Top notch facilities to support the strong curriculum, Rigorous academics and, service oriented, I am so grateful for the Regis community, seeing my son thrive and becoming a very intellectual, independent young man is the best, thanks to the kind community with excellent teachers who have truly brought out the best in my son.
I will be forever grateful to Regis HS. Both of my sons had an amazing experience. I always say they helped me finish my job as a mom by preparing them for college and the world around them. Regis encourages the boys to be men for others and to use their gifts to make the world a better place. The environment is rigorous but supportive and collaborative. My sons made incredible friends and we met wonderful families who have become lifelong friends. Regis is a very special place filled with very special people!
Regis is a great school with an incredible culture that encourages boys to grow into young men for others. I have made the greatest friends of my life at Regis and have found tremendous success following my high school career. The teachers genuinely care about educating students and are very passionate and available for extra help. The wealth of clubs available for students, especially theater and forensic speech, will grant students the opportunity to expand upon their passions outside the classroom. Regis is an incredible place and I wouldn't trade my time there for anything.
Rigorous academics, diverse clubs and sports, small class sizes, support from faculty and students, well rounded young men.
This school stinks. all this talk about the best school and it sucks. I came here thinking i was going to have an amazing experience, I was so wrong. half of the students are dumb and obsessed with debate with no value on anything else. Teachers are no better, I have found only one teacher who genuinely cares about students, but this teacher was forced out by his department. Pathetic.
Regis High School has taught me a multitude of lessons, but my overall experience is one of growth. Through countless obstacles and achievements alike, Regis High School has shaped me into a different person.
My experience at Regis High School has been an incredible journey where I have had amazing exposure to subjects that will ready me for college. Regis has the best variety with its subjects allowing for a student to find exactly what path or career they want to pursue in college along with amazing teachers to guide them. My personal experience sits with that of Regis’ physics, chemistry, and math classes which really sparked my interest in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. I feel honored to have had the experience I did with the teachers who taught me and inspired me to strive in my interests.
Amazing, Being a parent at Regis is an amazing experience but the thing is it’s only boys but it’s a great school
Regis is a very prestigious school that focuses on academics. It is a tight-knit, supportive, and welcoming community because of its immense diversity and small school size. Teachers are very professional and personable. Students are focused on their academics and bond well with their classmates.
My son recently graduated. I am so pleased with the education he received, the friends he has made, and his overall experience. Regis takes the best of the best from the 5 boroughs and NJ/CT/Long Island. My son had boys in his class who commuted 2 hours to school each way. I was afraid that the school would be hyper-competitive with all these great students. I was surprised to find that it was the exact opposite. The boys helped one another. The students who understood the material would put together study guides or tutor the others. The atmosphere was one of Christian charity and helping others. Academically, I do not know of many, if any schools, which are better. Half of my son's class were National Merit commended or Finalists. My son has matured, has learned, and has made many great friends. I now understand why parents stay involved in this great school long after their sons have graduated.
It's hard to describe Regis in a short review, but since my graduation yesterday, I want to say a few words. If the sole reason of sending your child to Regis is so he can go to a high ranked college, look elsewhere. Like all places, Regis has negatives, but I can say with confidence that I don't regret attending. Sometimes the administration annoyed me, notably when trying too hard to be "politically correct", but it's not a huge complaint. Stories about academic difficulty hold true, but this reputation is not as extreme as often seen. Most classes require significant effort, and a few are very demanding, but a good amount are smooth sailing. The quality of teaching is fantastic. Some of the teachers I've learned from were some of the greatest people I've known. Socially, there's a place for everyone in this welcoming community, no matter your background. If you're a student who takes school seriously, consider applying. You don't have to be perfect, and you'll make friends for life.
I love how you can reach out to anyone at Regis and they will always be willing to lend you some help. I would like to see more funding from the administration toward STEM-related clubs.
Very demanding, close nit group or students, parents and alumni. Broad classical education with emphasis on languages, math and the sciences
As a current frosh at Regis High School, it is extraordinary. Regis is a Catholic high school for young men with a reputation for being one of the best education environments in the country while having a substantial history of placing many of its students into highly competitive colleges.
The admissions process is challenging due to Regis's adroitness and demands its best from its students. The curriculum requires students' concentration and management of themselves and their time to thrive while promoting independence.
The jump from middle school to high school was an impactful transition that left me in a shell-shocked state for some time as I was out of my comfort zone. However, the helpfulness and accessibility of the faculty and the kindness of the student body allowed that panicking moment of change to become a beautiful moment of growth. Not even a year has elapsed, yet I am thankful for my acceptance and decision to attend this school.

To prospective students - if you can get in, go. It's the only working meritocracy I've encountered.
To parents - it's rigorous and your child can handle it. Regis is an engine for adulthood and accelerates their growth into generous intellectually curious young men. It is a pipeline to all the good schools and upward mobility. Good luck.

Regis has its positives and negatives just like any other school. In my time here there was been several large changes to the schools administration and many administrators are new to Regis. When I started in the fall of 2019 the administration tried to restructure the school using the “strategic plan” which just seemed like an excuse for them to fire the most beloved teachers, many who had been at Regis for several years. Following a scandal there was a shake up in the administration and an interim president started. It was clear he cared about the community and showed he was ready to listen to students, which the previous administration seemed to be against. A new permanent president started this fall and he seems to be responsive to students and the overall school community. I have had a few not-so-great teachers but when I raised concerns I felt my voice was heard. One teacher was not hired for another year and the other teacher I voiced concerns about was replaced mid-year.
