Guildhall School of Music and Drama Unveils Spring 2024 Concerts

Guildhall School of Music and Drama has unveiled its Spring 2024 events. Here is a rundown of the vocal and operatic performances on offer.

Pianist William Bracken, violinist Krystof Kohout, and soprano Manon Ogwen will present a recital at Milton Court Hall and Carnegie Hall. The showcase will feature a world premiere by Ben Pease Barton as well as music by Janácek, Liszt, Messiaen, and Hilary Tann.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12 & 16, 2024

“Song in Sign” will feature two opera singers, a pianist, and two signing artists. The showcase includes a world premiere by  composer Rylan Gleave and librettist Max Chase based on Oscar Wilde’s “The Happy Prince.”

Performance Dates: Jan. 23, 2024

Next up is the world premiere of “Stephen McNeff’s “A Star Next to the Moon.” The opera is based on Joan Rolfo’s novel “Pedro Páramo” and tells the story of Juan Preciado who sets off to see his father. Martin Lloyd-Evans directs and Dominic Wheeler conducts. 

Performance Dates: Feb. 26 – March 4, 2024

Soprano Ana-Carmen Balestra will join forces with pianist Aleksandra Myslek for the Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize.
