Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, the newest Gaucho location pays tribute to its roots, returning to London after a decade of regional expansion. Situated in an extension of the historic Royal Opera House, Gaucho is a vibrant addition to one London’s most culturally significant areas.

Drawing inspiration from the artistic spaces of Covent Garden and the passion-fueled tango clubs of Buenos Aires, the restaurant is layered with iconic design statements that reflect the cultural roots of the locality, while the base palette draws influence from our Argentinian origins.

The ground floor of our restaurant boasts a bright and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for breakfast, relaxed working lunches, or afternoon drinks.
The basement takes on a darker, more theatrical atmosphere offering a more intimate dining experience, with pleated curtain wall details inspired by the grand red-draped stage curtains from the West End Theatres.

The only disappointment is the volume level of the music. As in the vast majority of establishments these days, it is way way to loud. Why? We want to have a conversation without shouting and say what more often than necessary.

We came here for lunch to celebrate a birthday. Service was on point and the food was amazing as always. Of all the Goucho’s, Covent Garden is our favourite.

Food was mediocre especially for the price. Chips seemed like they were yesterday's reheated. Steak was average. They had run out of one desert (a simple one to make) and the Easter cocktail was like dish water. The downstairs is way too hot, to the point of feeling dehydrated.

Excellent food. Steak cooked perfectly. Good choice of cocktails. I had the El Niño; the coconut foam was divine. My only criticism would be as a table of 2; the tables were quite tight.

I have been to Goucho Tower bridge many times and that experience has always been good , but everything about Goucho Covent Garden was not good. I will not be visiting again

Got forgotten about a lot. Food was not worth the price unfortunately- not well cooked. There is a gaucho in Richmond that is amazing and this unfortunately just didn’t compare. Waited ages for first drinks. I think the service was the biggest disappointment.

Arrived to a sauna of a restaurant (it was 8 degrees outside so was hardly a hot day) Sat down, ordered dinner and some wine. Waited 50mins for our food and was then told “the kitchen has a fault so your food won’t be coming” Was then very sheepishly presented with a bill for our drinks (which included the drinks of the table next to us for some reason). Told we could got to their Charing Cross restaurant and get 25% off. However this was now gone 9pm and therefore not logistically viable. Terrible.

Awful experience at gaucho today which culminated with us walking out. Booked as an early mothers day meal. We were sat in a cold table by the door and had to close the door ourselves when the wind whipped through. Waiters ignored us and huffed about getting a kids menu. Bread took 30 mins to arrive. Mains 70+ mins after chasing several times. The chips were cold and cooked in old oil, my steak, ordered rare, was not sealed and flabby and only warm as it had been under a hot lamp. Managers were dismissive and disinterested in making it better. I booked expecting a pricey but predictably good meal. We will not return

Me and my wife popped into Gaucho Covent Garden after we had been to the opera house. We're were welcomed by a lovely host. Our waitress Kristina recommended starters showed us the steak board and recommended the steak which suited my taste and my cooking preference. Our steaks we excellent with friendly efficient service. We will definitely be coming back soon.

We tried to order 2 wines and out of stock. Next table over wanted a wine and was out of stock aswell. For a saturday, very disappointed. Value for money you get more at a miller and carter. But nice ambience

It was my teenage boys first visit to Gaucho. They both pronounced it “the best steak I ever had”. High praise considering both have been to Hawksmoor in the past. The cheese bread was an instant addition, too. Only complaint was no signature cowhide chairs.

Diners beware of being overcharge by unscrupulous waiter and management that states that a credit for overcharged amount could not be processed on the same day. Nor was a credit done on day 2 or 3. First attempt to contact restaurant did not get a call back.
