Are there any Scholarships? How will I know if I have been pre-selected or not for the assignment of a Scholarship?

All applications will be evaluated by the Admissions Board both for admission and scholarship assignment.

Luiss Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and consist of total or partial waivers of the University Tuition Fee. Other benefits will not be provided (ex: monthly allowance, educational material, etc.).

In order to assign the Scholarships, the Admission Board will propose at its own discretion the most deserving candidates. Only pre-selected students will then be evaluated by a dedicated Scholarship Board, who will assign the available scholarships in accordance with the criteria and timeframe indicated in the Call for Applications published by the Financial Aid Office at the following page.

If you have been pre-selected, you will receive within the given deadlines (see Table, at the column Feedback by) a communication which will inform you on the steps to follow. In case of assignment of a scholarship, you will receive another email which will contain the deadlines to accept the offer of the Scholarship. Please keep in mind that in case of failure of acceptance of the offer by the given deadline, the assigned scholarship will expire, thus, remember to check your email regularly!

In case of no assignment, you will still receive a communication which will invite you to proceed with the registration for attendance and the payment of the I installment of the tuition fee.

If you have not been pre-selected for the assignment of a scholarship, you will only receive the communication of outcome (admission/not admission) and subsequently you will not be considered again for the assignment of the scholarship. Yet, you will be able to compete in the other opportunities offered by the Financial Aid Office, published at the following link.

What will the admission criteria be?

All applications that meet eligibility criteria will be examined by an Admission Board. Therefore, please note that meeting of all eligibility criteria for participation in the selection procedure does not imply automatic admission to the chosen degree course. Each application will be evaluated by the Admission Board which – at its absolute discretion – will decide whether or not to admit each candidate taking into account the number of applications received in the relevant round, the number of students admitted in previous rounds and the quality of the application.

In examining the application, the Admission Board will consider:

  • the student’s academic background and school record;
  • the student’s academic performance;
  • consistency of one’s previous studies with the chosen degree program;
  • the language level declared;
  • GMAT/GRE scores (if any).
What documents are required to apply?
  • certificate showing the studies completed to date (updated transcript of records or, if not available, provisional transcript) and associated grades, issued in English or translated into Italian;
  • currently valid identity document;
  • details of a sponsoring professor, who may be contacted by the Admission Board;
  • certificate of knowledge of the English language (at least level B2), for all students wishing to register for a degree program taught in English, except for students who have attended/are attending school entirely in English;
  • proven mandatory level of knowledge of the Italian language (at least level B2 certified by accredited language institutes), solely for non-Italian citizens wishing to register for a degree program taught in Italian;
  • other optional certification (for example, language proficiency, GMAT or GRE). Students in possession of a GMAT certificate with a score equal to or greater than 550 or a GRE certificate with a score equal to or greater than 145 in the verbal and quantitative sections should submit an application for direct admission by clicking here.

Once uploaded the required documents, you can select the degree course that you wish to apply for:

PLEASE NOTE that the course selected during the application process is binding and cannot be changed for enrollment purposes.

What certifications is accepted to certify at least the B2 level of English?

You can present the following certifications (with the minimum score of):

  • Cambridge – B2,
  • IELTS - 5.5,
  • TOEFL - 72,
  • Duolingo - 90,
  • Other certificates from language schools and the University of origin issued on a date not prior to 2021.

I’m attending a degree course taught in English. Will I still have to attach the language certification?

If you are attending a study course entirely taught in English, you will have to attach a document certifying/proving that the course is held completely in English.

I am a native English speaker. What document will I have to attach under the “language certificate” section?

You can attach your passport or transcript certifying that your studies are completely held in English.

I made a mistake when filling in information. How can I change my application for admission?

You can make a change in your application by contacting us at testammissione@luiss.it, indicating the reason for the change and attaching an identity document. We will contact you to confirm that you can proceed with the modification of your application. You will need to access the following link with your credentials and proceed with the requested modification.

PLEASE NOTE that the Admission Office may also contact you to ask you to make the change in your application. To modify your application, please follow the above procedure. Failure to make the requested change by the application submission deadline will result in the cancellation of the application and will not be considered for the selection process.

When will I receive the result?

If the application is complete with all the required documents, it will be evaluated according to the calendar below:
