You don't want to miss some of the world's best Petroglyphs. This is an amazing trip for anyone to take. Just remember you have to sign up for a tour to be able to experience this.

Great little museum with lovely helpful staff.
Interesting displays, nicely marked up and informative, info covering surrounding areas too.
Interactive, written & taxidermy animals displays. Great little area for children to do their own investigations, and at their level - opening hidden drawers to reveal various interesting things inside.
Good gift shop, lots of other local info & maps available. Small entrance fee. Art exhibts worth a look too.
It's not huge but well worth a visit. Good parking, interesting picnic/seating area next to building. If you go quietly up to the museum you ll see lots of 🦎 enjoying the sun!

Really worth a trip to see the tools that make this country great. Plenty of planes to see and plenty of good stuff indoors.

Go to ride your mountain bike or to hike the ridge trails. Panoramic views from the ridges. great trails to walk with friends or take you dog out for the morning. Really great bicycle trails developed by years of rides by the locals. Home to the former Ridgecrest Desert Classic mountain bike race. Once voted Race of the Year by NORBA, noted for its great riding area and great local organization

I do business in Ridgecrest and Ridgecrest Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has been my goto place for area information. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff and lots of local publications. They cover. Lots of the surrounding desert, including Death Valley. Great contact for travelers as well.

We went thru the museum and it is small but packed with information. The onboard staff were excellent in answering any questions. I was amazed at the all the different missiles we made. Nice gift shop.

Small park near the China Lake Museum. Free to enter and has basically a self guided tour. Worth a look at the history of the Petroglyphs.

We decided to make this small trip while our house was undergoing an open house. Our 2 dogs were with us and they didn't mind the bumps or twists.
There are some awesome valley views just make sure that if you stop that you do so safely.
The reminders of the past few years fires are all around you - it's, actually, hauntingly beautiful but a clear reminder to be very careful should you start a campfire.
There is a camp ground close to Nine Mile Canyon Rd.

There is only 1 area that I remember that could give shade to these poor animals. Honestly, there were several times we thought that a horse, or 2, or 3 were dead in the corrals. Was glad there were only 2 burro at the time. I wish we could have found information on the reason for them capturing these beautiful animals and then fencing them off in the heat!

Not just books. Has artisan soaps and great gift and health products. Must visit when in town. A friendly female run business with great selection of items from local area and hard to find items!

We came into town from Death Valley looking for a place to relax and luckily we found this place...

The bartender was so friendly and made the end of our day, the other customers were welcoming as well.

Don’t be put off by the drive off the main road! Also the shuffle board was a nice touch.

I have gotten to know Maggi from people at work. They referred her to me for her work and pricing. I have been going to Maggi for about two years off and on. Maggi's schedule is flexible to accommodate my hectic schedule. I always feel relaxed and comfortable in her care. This is a home-based business, and I love to support local/home-based businesses.
