- Anne Marie V8 contributionsGreat little museum with lovely helpful staff.
Interesting displays, nicely marked up and informative, info covering surrounding areas too.
Interactive, written & taxidermy animals displays. Great little area for children to do their own investigations, and at their level - opening hidden drawers to reveal various interesting things inside.
Good gift shop, lots of other local info & maps available. Small entrance fee. Art exhibts worth a look too.
It's not huge but well worth a visit. Good parking, interesting picnic/seating area next to building. If you go quietly up to the museum you ll see lots of 🦎 enjoying the sun!Written June 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marros1960Ridgecrest, CA163 contributionsWe decided to make this small trip while our house was undergoing an open house. Our 2 dogs were with us and they didn't mind the bumps or twists.
There are some awesome valley views just make sure that if you stop that you do so safely.
The reminders of the past few years fires are all around you - it's, actually, hauntingly beautiful but a clear reminder to be very careful should you start a campfire.

Honestly, there were several times we thought that a horse, or 2, or 3 were dead in the corrals. Was glad there were only 2 burro at the time. I wish we could have found information on the reason for them capturing these beautiful animals and then fencing them off in the heat!Written August 3, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have been going to Maggi for about two years off and on. Maggi's schedule is flexible to accommodate my hectic schedule. I always feel relaxed and comfortable in her care. This is a home-based business, and I love to support local/home-based businesses.Written June 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
