Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express It’s all rah-rah, hardly any nose-digs, but then you don’t really expect any in a series like this, about the biggest, most storied production house in Hindi cinema. Feb 17, 2023 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies The refreshing thing about The Romantics is that none of the interviewees shy away from their failures. As in, they aren’t romanticizing Yash Chopra or YRF just because the man isn’t with us anymore. Rated: 3/5 Jul 23, 2023 Full Review Romey Norton Ready Steady Cut This docuseries has a contagious energy that makes you want to keep watching. Rated: 3/5 Mar 8, 2023 Full Review Poulomi Das Vague Visages At a time when some of the most inventive image-making is happening in Indian documentaries, The Romantics sticks out for its unimaginative glossiness. The series is formally dull. Feb 23, 2023 Full Review Radhika Menon Decider Geared toward Bollywood superfans, there’s still a lot to love for anyone remotely interested in the Hindi film industry. Feb 17, 2023 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com The glass was always half full around Yash Chopra. But the entry of son Aditya Chopra in show business shifted the glass's fortunes, turning it into a reservoir that would never run short. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Dr Suraksha P I watched "The Romantics" yesterday and initially didn't know it was about Yash Raj Films. As the story unfolded, I realized the connection. It would have been helpful to have some hints beforehand. The first episode focused on Yash Chopra and BR Chopra, illustrating how an ordinary person with great passion can achieve extraordinary things, which was truly inspiring. The second part was remarkable since it was the first time I saw Aditya Chopra speak; I had always heard he was camera shy, so my perception was different from what I witnessed. His passion, hard work, and eloquence were amazing. It amazed me to see his dedication to filmmaking and delivering the best output while staying away from the glamour and noise to remain focused on his work. In the age of social media, where many in the industry focus on reels for TRP and followers, his saintly approach was truly influential. His intelligent, charismatic, confident, and knowledgeable way of speaking redefined my perception of him. Thanks to Netflix for making such an insightful documentary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Koppoli A Its just another off the script kind of interview with some big names under the label of Netflix. I understand that this is a tribute to Mr Yash Chopra but seems more of a PR stunt. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Femi M Absolute joy watching this. It was beautiful seeing all the Bollywood heros I enjoyed watching growing up. But even more importantly, it was enlightening, educational and really inspiring taking a back stage view on the life of Yash Chopra, his legacy and the beautiful minds and work ethics of his kids. Really good production. A feel good series that we all need every now and then. And a great tribute to a great man. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Lahen S Loved it! Such a well presented documentary on Yash Raj films and the hmHindi film industry. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
