I wish i had this dvd set someday. Dennis winship lynn,Massachusetts

  2. James says:

I am a huge fan of cage matches. I think that fans need to know if they didn’t already that wwe put out war games on DVD in 2013. I haven’t seen this cage match set yet but I own it and the match listing is great. I know sometimes they repeat matches on different DVDs but it’s worth having

  3. MithrandirOlorin says:

None older then 79? We only get to see Bruno Samartino past his prime.

  4. Jay Karia says:

I have just bought this DVD today and I am looking forward to watching it.

  5. Jay Karia says:

I’m looking forward to buying this DVD. Soon.

  6. guy says:

this card is not appeling at all its a digusting dvd

  7. RabidHeat says:

At least BloodBath didn’t have the ratio bars. 😉

  8. Brett Mix says:

Flair-Race was historically important but boring as all hell and doesen’t hold up. I wish we could of seen Savage-Lawler from Memphis.

  9. Maddness says:

This was WWE’s WORST DVD SET EVER!!! The match ends made no sense. Maybe 1 or 2 did. I GAVE my copy away. I sat and made a list of WAY better matches that could of been on this set. Macho Man vs Honky Tonk Man from The Philadelphia Spectrum on January 9th, 1988 should of made it to this set but it was cut short for a Cage Match with a DQ ending? Fuck that

    • MithrandirOlorin says:

I’m mainly disappointed it doesn’t have any Hogan v Savage uncensored 98, or Hagan v Flair Uncensored 99.

  10. U won't know says:

There’s no he’ll in a cell matches it’s not calle greatest steel cage matches just cage

    • James says:

The reason that hell in a cell matches aren’t included is because the steel cage match came first and in 2009 there was no blood in the hell in a cell match this set shows the traditional steel cage match

  11. Will NJ says:

FYI…I belive only the one Bunkhouse Stampede took place in a cage (from the PPV of the same name). Usually those Crockett Bunkhouse Stampede matches were just regular battle royals where the guys dressed in street clothes.

  12. Will NJ says:

Someone mentioned the Steiners/Money Inc. WWF Tag-Title CAGE match from August 1993…which I didn’t quite remember, so I dug it out from my collection…and WOW – what a great match!

  13. Dennis says:

I would say if you already hace the bloodbath dvd & are thinking about getting this one, then just keep the bloodbath & get this one anyway. Bc some of the matches that are repeated on the New dvd are complete matches whereas on the old one they’re just highlights. Plus BB does have Bret vs Owen from SS 94. That way if you keep both, you could have a more complete set & everybody will be happy 🙂

  14. richie says:

    10 matches repeated. Pathetic.

  15. Matt says:

I get most dvd sets and this set has an even 50/50 split between matches I have and the ones I don’t. However, I consider most of the new ones to be must have. Particularly, Bruno/Zbyszko, RNR/Kolloffs, Luger/Flair, HHH/Rock, Jericho/Batista and Edge/Jericho which I contend is better than Edge’s cage match with Angle but doesn’t get the recognition. Also intrigued by the inclusion of Road Warriors/Hayes & Garvin which I have never seen. Would have liked to see less repeats but I feel they more than make up for it.

  16. Steven says:

The John Cena vs Edge match is that the one cage match where DX interfered and cost Edge the title or a different cage match between them?

  17. Anonymous says:

I wish they included the Steiners and Money Inc Cage Match from the SummerSlam Spectacular in 1993.

  18. Isrs4life says:

Because there different and these are classics.

  19. wrestling89 says:

how in the hell are there no Bunkhouse Stampede matches or any of the War Games on this?

  20. Anonymous says:

Its also on the other cage match DVD and the summerslam anthology if that counts, but my beef is that they shouldnt call it that when thats not even what they are trying to put together. It should probably be called ‘Some of the Greatest Cage Matches of All Time With Some Obvious Ones Missing: The Anthology’. If its only a half hearted effort its a waste of time. Probably still sell though.

  21. Banjo says:

it’s true, Bret vs. Owen should be on here. it’s only on History of the WWE Championship and Hart family DVD. it’s not on Bret’s DVD though

  22. Giovanni says:

Even though there’s no Original ECW stuff it’s still one hell of a release. i mean, the amount of footage from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, & 00’s is truely a must-have for any kind of fan.

  23. Anonymous says:

If you are going to make a set called the ‘Greatest Cage Matches of All Time’ then you should expect repeats. That’s if it really was the the greatest cage matches ever. Its pretty obvious though this isnt even an attempt to be what it says it is. I say do one or the other, if you want to release cage matches that havent been on DVD, do that. If you want a definitive collection of the best then do that. But I’m pretty fed up of these weird compromises. It just makes it seem so random as if they don’t know what they are doing.

Everyone complains about repeats but if it was to live up to its title Magnum vs. Tully, Bret vs. Owen, Flair vs. Race should all be on there. OK but you want different matches right, so put rarer matches on. Problem is half of these wont fit into either category and we are left with a thrown together mediocre pile of crap.

  24. Anonymous says:

They act like they didn’t put out a cage match DVD in 2004. They really are pathetic sometimes with these DVD releases. There should not be one match on here from the first DVD, and instead half of them are repeats. They will always disappoint it never fails

  25. James says:

Would have been nice to see Flair defeating Race inside a steel cage at the 1983 Starrcade. Not only was it historic because it was the 1st title change in a cage but it was also a great, great match!

  26. indyfan says:

Not that impressed. Didn’t they mention in the description that ECW and Smokey Mountain wrestling cage matches would be included. This set looks like crap besides a few gems. almost half the dvd is on other dvd sets.

  27. Anonymous says:

I don’t mind repeats if the matches are truly great, but Mankind vs. Triple H is not that great and its been treated like some sort of masterpiece. It wasn’t even anywhere near the best match on that Summerslam.

The first disc is by far the best, the third disc is a waste of time. Cage matches weren’t the same spectacle after Hell in the Cell came along. The second disc should have been so much better.

  28. smacka says:

some rare gems on the set

  29. LP1 says:

I don’t know how anyone can complain about this set. The first disc is by far the best of the 3 discs. Abby vs Brody! 5 stars for this dvd set just for including that match. Disc 2 has some decent stuff on it. Disc 3 is all WWE stuff from the last 10 years that are pretty much the same match over and over. WWE hasn’t put on a decent Cage match in years. Every Cage match from the last 10 years follows the same formula over and over again. Disc 1 is old school style Cage matches, back when guys were allowed to work and be creative and not be hindered by bad booking and lack of blood and emotion. Big thumbs up for this set.

  30. william says:

I only own like 4 of these matchs so i will pick this up to many old school matchs but alot off good ones i dont have

  31. i dont own many dvds but dats a gud ding cause all dese matches except 4 edge jricho r brnd new

  32. Lawrence says:

I like the inclusion of the old school stuff although I have Patterson/Backlund and Snuka/Backlund on other sets. I like the fact they are including Sammartino/Zbyszko from Shea Stadium.
    I’ll be purchasing this set.

  33. Anonymous says:

Will buy. Some repeats on here but a lot of stuff I don’t have.

  34. Alan says:

Pretty underwhelming in my opinion. The first disc is a complete wash-out. The second disc is better, but the best material will all be hindered by the ‘blur effect’. The third disc doesn’t appeal, except for the Jericho/Batista match. Won’t be buying, sadly.

  35. Cody says:

Even though their some repeats their is some hidden gems on here aswell most of these matches I have not seen before great to edge/jericho cage match from 2002 on here that was a great match unlike that boring cage match they had about a year ago overall looks like a set I gonna have to get.

  36. Yesss! My Fave Cage match is there! Dudleys vs Hardys! 🙂

  37. ck says:

Sammartino vs. Zbyszko, Koloffs vs. R’n’R Express were a couple of matches I was hoping for. Nice!

  38. looks a decent set to me, looking forward to the rebellion steel cage as i used to have that on video and i remember the warrior/rude match from whenever i used to rent it the video shop.

  39. thomas says:

yeah i remember buying bloodbath a while back i am glad they are making a way better version!! the cover looks great imo will be buying the dvd

  40. Rob L says:

Is tht Edge vs Jericho from Smackdown 02′ better than their cage match from Extreme Rules 2010?

  41. Mark D says:

Nice to see that Blood Bath is getting re-released with a different cover 😉

Come on WWE! A Huge opportunity missed here. Of the matches that aren’t featured on Bloodbath lots of them are on other DVDs.

There was a whole load of comments posted here the other day about matches to be included… no one in WWE though of any of those?

    Very disappointed! 🙁

  42. SRB says:

Bob Backlund vs. Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka, Abdullah the Butcher vs. Bruiser Brody, Ultimate Warrior vs. ‘Macho King’ Randy Savage are all gems I am yet to see. I personally own 7 of these matches already on other sets. out of 24 matches that isn’t bad. to me, just like every other wwe set you have hits and misses.

  43. Anonymous says:

I figured this dvd was going to be hit or miss and after seeing this listing I can honestly say that it is one big MISS! I mean come on now half of, oh no wait, MOST of these matches were already on the bloodbath cage dvd from 2003 and others have already been released on other dvd’s already. With the exception of disc 1 and the first match on disc 2 everything else is WWE. How many times does WWE need to release the same matches over and over again. Do we really need to see Vince getting his ass kicked by Austin again or Foley and HHH again. Im surprised they didn’t add Bret/Owen from SS’94 or HHH/Flair from Taboo Tuesday’O5 on here since they have both been released countless times as well. Come on now where the hell is Hogan/Beefcake vs. Savage/Zeus from No Holds Barred. As an avid WWE DVD collector nad someone who has a massive collection of WWE dvd’s and vhs’s I can tell you that I am tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again. That’s why Im looking forward to the upcoming Nitro dvd cause it’s something different for once. I will say thumbs up for including Hogan/Andre, Edge/Jericho, Savage/ Warrior and Jericho/Christian on here but honestly Im disappointed with this set.

  44. CJ says:

Wow some of those I never even knew existed. Hogan vs Andre in a cage? Michaels vs Jannetty in a cage? Crazy.

  45. Bill says:

Hopefully they don’t grey out the blood, looks like an awesome set

  46. Daniel Bee says:

Glad Jericho vs Christian from Raw in 04 made it.

  47. Banjo says:

I’m very happy with these picks. I’m buying this!!
