Blue Valentine has been in my watchlist for quite some time now as I was a huge fan of “A Place Beyond the Pines” which was also directed by Derek Cianfrance.
Was it the best idea to watch this at 3am? Definitely not, but this is an absolute emotional rollercoaster of romance, marriage and dysfunction families. Depressing is an understatement for this film. It pulls on your heart strings in every aspect possible. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams are fucking incredible in this film. Might be Gosling’s most raw performance I’ve seen of his so far. Highly recommend watching, but fair warning be prepared for sadness. 💯 😭 🚌 🚬
