Nathan Lane Marries Playwright Devlin Elliott, His Partner Of 18 Years

The couple are also currently working on a children's book together.

Camp legend Nathan Lane and playwright Devlin Elliott, his longtime partner of 18 years, officially tied the knot this week in a small ceremony at New York City Hall.

A rep for Nathan confirmed the couple were hitched to People, adding that "everyone is extremely happy."

Lane announced his marriage Wednesday night at a panel hosted by Joy Behar, discussing his new children's book Naughty Mabel.

The couple are currently working together as creative collaborators on the book, which is based on their spoiled pet French bulldog Mabel. "She's become our version of a child," Elliott told USA Today recently. "Really all she wants is for you to pick her up and hold her like a baby."

Lane and Elliott have been dating since before Lane came out publicly in 1999. Having recently been awarded with the Matthew Shepard Foundation's Making A Difference Award, Lane revealed the late Matthew Shepard was an inspiration for his coming out.

"It was an incredibly sobering moment," he said. "I’d already come out on a personal level, why not come out publicly now that I was a so-called public figure, if it might be meaningful to others in the struggle?"

Congratulations, Nathan and Devlin!
