'9-1-1' Cast Wishes Gavin McHugh a Happy Birthday in Sweet New Video

The 9-1-1 cast came together to wish co-star Gavin McHugh a happy 14th birthday in a sweet video message posted to the series' social media pages. 

"Wanna give a big birthday shout out to my son Christopher! Love you, buddy. Have a great day, Gav," said Ryan Guzman, who portrays McHugh's father on the series.

Season 7 of the emergency responder show has seen Christopher grapple fully with his estrangement from his late mother as he enters adolescence. The teen actor's presence on the show draws from his experience with cerebral palsy, with Christopher being a point of growth for his dad and offering comic relief in the way that only middle school-aged boys can.

"It's been wonderful working with you over these past years. Although you and I, we got to do better with getting some scenes together," star Angela Bassett joked in her birthday wishes.

Joining in with the rest of the 118, Jennifer Love Hewitt said, "You are a bright light in this world. Keep shining my friend," before blowing a kiss to the camera.

The birthday message concluded with a lovely rendition of Tracie Thoms' singing "Happy Birthday," at the behest of on-screen wife Aisha Hinds.

A new episode of 9-1-1 airs this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
