Bandai Namco revealed new details about Tekken 8 and its first season, along with a teaser trailer for Lidia Sobieska. The developers did not release a specific date for Lidia’s release but plan to launch her in the summer. This news comes from EVO Japan 2024, where many fighting game tournaments were held.
Additionally, a new chapter for the game’s story mode is being developed, in which Eddy Gordo and Nina will play a huge part. This new story will release in autumn alongside a Ghost vs Ghost and Online Practice mode. The developers will also be launching a battle system adjustment patch this spring. The patch notes will be releasing tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Tekken 8 Teases Lidia and Future Updates
In the summer, a new stage and photo mode will be released as a free update. The new stage, “Seaside Resort,” is Lidia’s stage from Tekken 7. The developers did not explain how Tekken 8’s photo mode will work, but more information will come in the future.
For competitors and spectators, the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR is still ongoing as players worldwide fight for points to advance to the finals. Additionally, Tekken 8 will be at EVO 2024 from July 19-21. The game makes its first debut at an American EVO this year, including many others. Due to the majority of the lineup being new games, this will be a fresh experience for players and spectators. There has been no news about whether more content will be revealed for each game.
