Braxton Family Christmas

The Braxtons

About “Braxton Family Christmas”

Braxton Family Christmas is the first album by The Braxtons to feature all five sisters. Their 1994 debut album So Many Ways included only the trio of Tamar Braxton, Trina Braxton, and Towanda Braxton. The two elder sisters Toni Braxton and Traci Braxton are recording with the group here for the first time since their 1990 debut single “The Good Life” that led to Toni’s discovery as a solo artist.

The album opens with a solo version of Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” by Toni, but the album closes with a punchier ensemble version of the classic. Although Toni rightfully takes lead on the majority of the album’s numbers, each sister gets the spotlight in on multiple ensemble numbers. Their brother Michael Braxton even guests on lead vocals for “Under My Christmas Tree.”

The album reached #27 on the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and #10 on the US R&B Chart.
