Very nice museum with 5 floors of exhibits on Costa Rican History. A lot of the items were jewelry and other similar items. But they also had some artifacts and other items. They did have a temporary exhibit as well.

Like the National Museum a little pricey for non Costa Rican citizens at about $20. Didn't spend as much time here as at the National Museum.

Had a free day in San Jose before my tour started so I went downtown to walk around and see a couple of museums. Started here which is a very nice museum, it was a fort for the Army before Costa Rica eliminated their military.

It is a little expensive, around $20 if you are not a Costa Rican, but you can easily spend a few hours here. They have a butterfly garden when you walk in. The tower tells the story of the birth of the Republic. They have a series of rooms that depicts pre Spanish occupation up to independence and then a section which details what has happened since.

Small but excellent free exhibition in a beautiful historical (former airport) building with outside sculptures. Well worth the short trip out of the city centre.

This was definitely the most authentic jungle experience I ever had--I don't know if there's a way to get one quite like it. It's hard to really describe the drive up; I wouldn't call it a dirt road. it's more like rock with dried dirt from the rainy season. If you come in the dry season, I recommend an SUV, though 4WD is still better. This is the only place we went in Costa Rica where we used 4WD in the dry season. In the wet season, I don't see how you could come here without it.

The park itself is incredible; you hear all kinds of sounds, though I didn't see much wildlife. Something did growl at me, though!

The plant life is incredible. The hike is not as hard as I thought it would be, and Copey was completely worth it. That said, the return hike from Copey was a bit rough for maybe a Kilometer, so keep that in mind.

We got there right at 8am and didn't see another soul again until we were nearing the entrance; even so, there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. Everyone I did see appeared to be a local.

There are bathrooms at the entrance, but only at the entrance, so be prepared for that.

The staff is very hospitable; the person we encountered did not speak any English, but he spoke very slowly and used the map to tell us a bit about the trail. Between my French and Italian, I understood enough--he was a very helpful person.

Overall, if you are in good enough health and willing to brave the drive, DO NOT skip this! And if you are worried about your ability to do a proper hike, at least go up to Barva; I thought the trail was reasonably easy up to that point.

Be warned, the weather in the area is really unpredictable; we were just barely able to see the laguna, and we got no views at all from Barva. It was still worth it, but mentally prepare yourself for that.

It was excellent with 2 qualifiers. It is really for younger kids (8 or under) and most of the exhibitions are in Spainish although many of the guides speak English

A beautiful oasis of tranquility in San Jose with the optional walk down to the river an unexpected bonus. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

Both of our drivers were great… it was a long ride but they definitely took care of us. I’d definitely recommend this company.

A wonderful place to have a great time with family, friends or business colleagues. We had a great time in a dinner activity organized by the company for which I work for. Live entertainment, good typical food and a beautiful scenario at Pueblo Antiguo.

This park offers some greenery, statues and art.

The main attraction is a famous statue of Costa Ricans driving out an American imperialist.

This is the main square of San José with some huge shops and the national theatre. There is not that much to do, but it is good to see and I recommend a tour in the theatre.

This is an adventure park with a purpose. The park's motto is "healthy children help sick children". Costa Rica´s Children´s Hospital is financed by the profits of this park. So if you visit, you enjoy and leave a bit of your money for this excellent institution.

Went to see the women's U20 World Cup and especially to cheer on Canada. We were able to purchase touchline tickets for only $10 (USD) and had an amazing view of the game. Only problem was that this stadium has a capacity of about 35,000 and there were only about a thousand people in the stands, mostly families of the players. I'm sure that with the right crowd, the atmosphere would have been stellar.

An excellent museum highlighting aspects of Costa Rica’s history from early times, through the colonial period, to the current day. Well designed exhibits, with explanations in Spanish and English. I learned a lot about the history of the country.
The setting is great, in an old fort, with a great central garden with views to the mountains.
Entering through a butterfly garden was a pleasant surprise, and a nice way of demonstrating Costa Rica’s keenness to protect their wildlife.
Not expensive to enter. We spent around two hours there.

Using CR shuttle was much better than renting a car. We used them twice, including on one long day. We had the same driver both times. He was prompt (arrived early both times), spoke some English, friendly, and on our long drive suggested a couple of stops. The staff was easy to work with for booking and very responsive.
