A Release Date Is Revealed

The most recent Paddington 3 news arrived on October 24, 2023. The release date for Paddington in Peru has been revealed by StudioCanal and Sony. Paddington 3 is coming out on January 17, 2025. However, the UK will get to see the new Paddington movie a little earlier, in November 2024. Along with the release date announcement, a cast change was also confirmed. Rachel Zegler (Snow White) will not be returning for the cast of Paddington 3. The role of Gina Cabot will instead be taken by Spanish newcomer Carla Tous.

The Paddington in Peru release date has been set for January 17, 2025, which falls on that year's MLK Weekend. Filming for Paddington 3 began in July 2023, with filming locations including the U.K., Peru, and Colombia. Production on Paddington 3 concluded in October 2023, but due to filming coinciding with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, Rachel Zegler had to step down from the role of Gina Cabot, with newcomer Carla Tous taking her place in the Paddington in Peru cast.

The Paddington 3 cast is coming together with a mix of familiar faces and new additions. Ben Whishaw will return to voice Paddington, and the Brown family is also confirmed to be returning. This means Hugh Bonneville will be back as Henry Brown along with Madeline Harris as Judy and Samuel Joslin as Jonathan. There is, however, a cast change in Paddington in Peru. Sally Hawkins has chosen not to return as Mary Brown, and Emily Mortimer will take over the role. Due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023, Rachel Zegler isn't returning to the Paddington 3 cast, and Gina Cabot will now be played by newcomer Carla Tous.

While Zegler exits the franchise, Antonio Banderas will reprise his role as the riverboat captain Hunter Cabot, Gina's father. Paddington in Peru has some new cast members too of course.
