Yes, magnets in the back case line up with magnets in the cover to allow you to securely snap the case into place, providing a stable stand in raised screen view, landscape, and portrait modes during use.
To connect to Bluetooth, first press Fn + B for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. Once in pairing mode, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Other Devices > Connect to “ESR Keyboard”. Check out the video for full instructions on connecting your keyboard.
Yes, just press the backlight key to adjust the brightness level between high, medium, low, or off.
When the trackpad is not responding, you have to disable AssistiveTouch. To disable, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch > Turn off “AssistiveTouch”.

I was pretty shocked how heavy and thick it was. It’s thicker than my iPad Pro 11 3rd gen with Magic Keyboard. At any rate this is for the new iPad Pro OLED 13" with has not arrived yet and it sort of defeats the purpose of having a super thin iPad in a sense. That said, any sort of case is going to be an issue in that regard, im a case guy though as I dont like my devices getting scratched up. Furthermore, I can’t bring myself to cough up $450 CAD just for the magic keyboard for occasional use of the keyboard, so this ESR one is a good alternative. Despite the fact it’s so thick and heavy, the bright side is the quality is very good. Typing feels better and more solid than the magic keyboard. Moreover, since the base is heavier it likely won’t tip as easily as the magic keyboard does. Bear in mind this is all comparing to the older style magic keyboard not the 2024 Magic Keyboard that I was too cheap to buy. At any rate ESR makes good quality products and this is no exception.

I purchased the ESR iPad Pro keyboard for my 13-inch iPad Pro M4. I will primarily use the keyboard in my home office and on occasional business trips. My wife and I have previously purchased other ESR products, and the case’s quality and design are consistently high, delivering fantastic value.This keyboard provides the same basic functions as comparable keyboards at a fraction of the cost. It contains a protective case that you can remove from the keyboard to protect it from minor scratches and drops, which is a useful feature. When connected to the keyboard, the iPad can be oriented in either landscape or portrait orientation. The magnets are extremely strong, allowing you to elevate the iPad slightly if needed, giving you more viewing angle options. The keyboard has been snappy and works well with the iPad. The function rows and backlit keys are fantastic features that provide a reliable typing experience.The main drawback is that it is a little heavier than other keyboard case selections. However, for my needs, the lighter weight of other keyboard cases does not justify the extra expense. Perhaps if I traveled more, I might be willing to pay more for a lighter keypad.Overall, I definitely recommend this keyboard case to anyone searching for a reliable alternative to the more expensive keyboard cases on the market.

I’d already picked up the new Apple keyboard case, but I wanted something with a little more flexibility when traveling when I wanted to use the iPad in multiple modes, from laptop substitute to photo editing to consuming media.The ability to detach the iPad from the keyboard and still have a functioning case is what made it the winner for me. The Apple case you can only really use in laptop mode, and then you have an unprotected device when you use it in other modes – may as well just take the MacBook.It’s well made with quality materials – not quite there with the OEM keyboard, but it gets the job done. The connection via Bluetooth is simple and reliable and you’re using the keyboard minutes later. It sits and balances well on your lap as well as the desktop, and you can easily switch the device from landscape to portrait.Overall I’m very happy with the purchase, and given the price it may be the best choice for most users looking to add a keyboard to their new iPad.

I purchased the keyboard case for my 2024 iPad Pro 13in. My first impressions were that it was made of quality materials. It’s built strong and looks very good with the iPad. I love that it comes with a detachable case for the iPad that’s slim and fits perfectly. There is even an indentation for the pencil so that it can magnetically attach. Beautiful workmanship. On startup, it immediately connected to iPad with zero issues. I opened up notes and began to edit a note that i was previously working with on my phone and not only did it work, they typing experience is actually very nice. The key travel is perfect. And i am picky about keyboards. I used it only a couple times and everything seemed to be perfect. I hadn’t really gotten into actually exploring the keyboard’s features, simply note taking and some document typing.But then i went in to test out the features. The trackpad first. Finger scrolling, Check. Tab Changing with 3 fingers, Check. Increased the trackpad speed and it began gliding across the screen beautifully. Next i wanted to test the keyboard shortcuts. Turning the keyboard backlights down, shortcut to home, etc. Not a single one of them worked. So i went to do the factory reset. Nothing. Not a single keyboard shortcut worked on the keyboard. So naturally i reached out to ESR and they responded in a reasonable amount of time. They apologized and offered to send a replacement right away. They assured me this was an isolated incident and i was happy. Fast forward the next day and i get an email from ESR apologizing further that upon checking, the product was out of inventory. So they offered a full refund.While they keyboard works and is a pleasure to type on, connects seamlessly, and is an attractive product, the shortcuts are an essential component to the keyboard.Nevertheless, getting a full refund, timely response, and genuine customer service took this review up to 5 stars.
