Crazy how this was not released on Vinyl when the movie originally came out. One reason could be that they were not prepared for the enormous success it was at the box office. According to IMDB "Studio executives were so sure this film would flop that Robert Zemeckis was pre-emptively fired from directing Cocoon (1985). It turned out to be such a success that Zemeckis was able to go forward on his own project, Back to the Future (1985)." And hence they did not plan a vinyl release of the soundtrack. They did not make the same mistake twice with the release of the sequel. - Edited 6 years ago

One the best soundtracks of the 80s. Actually ... probably the best! :) referencing Romancing The Stone (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (CD, Album, Limited Edition) VCL 0702 1012
Why there is no vinyl release for this is waayy beyond me. Probably my favorite Alan Silvestri soundtrack and that's saying a lot as I love his work. $120 for a cd is a joke tho. I just did a internet search and found a free decent quality download. Why no vinyl?? There been a ton of soundtracks that are garbage compared to this pressed, sigh. Another goody is the Predator ll soundtrack. Not really groovy like this one but radical percussion on there- Edited 8 years ago
