I read the negative reviews before buying this book and nearly didn't download it as a result. I'm very glad I did though, as I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. Perhaps it is disappointing if you're expected a re-hash of the Devil Wears Prada, but that's not the point of this novel. It's about what happens next, ten years down the line. For me this book is about Andy growing up and growing a backbone. It's about life being more complicated in your 30s than in your 20s and about becoming a more confident person with more to worry about than the right shoes. Although shoes do still come into it, thankfully. I don't think it would make any sense for Miranda to feature more heavily in this book, as it's about having the spectre of the boss from hell still haunt you from the sidelines. Even saying that though, I think the 'revenge' is very perfectly Miranda.So do give it a go but don't expect it to be exactly like the first book.

It came as a surprise when I saw this sequel as I hadn't heard anything about a follow up to such a brilliant book and film adaptation. I have seen that it has attracted a lot of negative reviews, but in my opinion, it was a lovely story for fans of Lauren Weisberger and chick lit alike. I don't think it could have been more different to The Devil Wears Prada as it sees a much more grown up and mature Andy, 10 years on as she looks to settle down. We still have a few of the old characters such as Emily and of course, Miranda. It is a little slow in the middle section, but don't give up, as the ending saved it for me. The return of another character certainly changed the course of the story and made it an enjoyable read.

I really loved the devil wears prada - both book and film - and I was beyond excited to hear a sequel was being releases. Where would we be, ten years after Andy screamed at Miranda in Paris?

The book opens with Andy's wedding to Max. She's moved on and has her own magazine, the plunge, with Emily. Yes, the Emily! Lots of ups and downs happen throughout the book and the ending came as a surprise.

I have to say, I struggled to get into this and found it very slow going. I just thought it was boring and not much happened. It's taken me well over a week to finish which really isn't like me at all!

I was well over a third into the book before I was into it. The part where Max betrays Andy made me so mad. I wanted to slap him. How could you do that? My only criticism is that I wanted Andy to stand up for herself a little more. The way she allowed Emily to boss her around made me want to scream. Emily hadn't changed at all.

This is not a patch on the first book but worth a read. Be prepared to stick with it though. I can't foresee a Hollywood movie anytime soon though.

... but it isn't the worse for that, it just raises the drama when she is there. You get the feeling that she's lurking in the wings, twirling her moustache and the rest of the story is fun. I'm not sure I would have paid full price for it, but as a Kindle read it's worth every penny.

As per other reviewers, I would have to agree that this book's title was a bit misleading.

Having seen this new book on a supermarket shelf, I promptly came home, bought the Kindle version and dug out my copy of the original book.
Spent a few evenings re-reading the original then looked forward to reading this sequel.

Whilst I did enjoy the book, Miranda was not featured anywhere near as often as the title suggests. And there was not much revenge either...

I enjoyed reading about Andy's life, but did question how she could let Emily & Max away with half the things they said/did - grow a spine!!

An easy summer read, still good but a bit of a let-down after the original.

Definitely don't see Anne Hathaway reprising her role for big screen for a movie sequel!

So why did I buy it? I was ploughing through a worthy, but heavy and rather demanding history book and was flagging. A bit of light entertainment was called for and with a holiday looming I wandered past the paperback section of the local Tesco to get some inspiration for stuff to put on my Kindle. Didn't recognise the author's name even, but "The Devil wears Prada" had been an enjoyable if silly read, so I got it. Yep, it was really, really bad. Poor plot, little surprise and dreary, whingy, annoying cut-out characters. Like a number of reviewers I just wanted to give Andy a good slapping (metaphorically of course), tell her to pull herself together and stop whining. And don't get me started on the modern mummy phenomenon. How did anyone ever have a baby or manage to raise children before? Why on earth do supposedly intelligent women have to subside into a puddle of hopelessness just because they have actually, gasp, HAD A BABY? I was ashamed to be found reading it, yet read it I did - quite compulsively, so it has to have 2 stars, when it deserved 1 at best. But if you can't stop reading it, there must be something driving you on, even if it is only seeing if it can actually get any worse (it did). And a glossy wedding magazine called "The Plunge" ... purleeease!

I downloaded this book to my kindle as having read the devil wears prada and seeing the film I knew it would be a winner! The plot is entertaining and no matter how you try if you have seen the original film, you will find yourself picturing the cast! There are some new characters though to get you imagination going but all in all this is a good read! I won't spoil the plot for those of you about to read it but it is interesting how characters from the first book 're-appear in this. If you liked the first one it's, definitely a good read! Plot gets a bit rushed towards the end but still enjoyable! Hard to put down!
