From its debut to its conclusion, the Better Call Saul cast was one of the many reasons the spinoff was such a hit. Before Saul Goodman was laundering Walter White's dirty cash in Breaking Bad, he was the aspiring, young Albuquerque lawyer known as Jimmy McGill, fighting tooth and nail to forge a career in the legal world. Better Call Saul has shown Jimmy's ever-so-gradual transition into the Saul Goodman Breaking Bad fans know and love, and season 6 marks the final leg of that journey. Though he is at the center of the spinoff, the overall Better Call Saul cast and characters are undoubtedly among its greatest strengths.

Blending Breaking Bad favorites with newcomers who are just as compelling, Better Call Saul season 6 reveals what becomes of those characters who don't appear in Breaking Bad and adds new context to the characters fans already knew. Because season 6 brings the story closer to the Breaking Bad timeline than ever before, Better Call Saul's cast and characters are a largely familiar bunch and include some major new additions.

Bob Odenkirk As Jimmy McGill

Bob Odenkirk in Better Call Saul

The role of Jimmy McGill, Saul Goodman or Gene - depending on what point of the Breaking Bad timeline he is in - has provided Bob Odenkirk's breakout acting gig. Better Call Saul season 6 deals with all these personalities as Jimmy finds himself dragged deeper into the criminal underworld with deadly consequences. This causes him to lose Kim which leads to him embracing the more abrasive personality of Saul Goodman. Lastly, the flash forwards in Better Call Saul season 6 take a look at his life in hiding as Gene only for him to get that urge to return to his former criminal ways, leading to his ultimate downfall as well as slight redemption in the end.

Odenkirk received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in season 6, his fifth nomination for each award since the show began. After establishing himself in the comedy world as a writer on Saturday Night Live and with Mr. Show with Bob and David, Saul Goodman opened up a new path for Odenkirk's career. He has also appeared in Nobody, Little Women, and season 1 of Fargo. He recently starred in the new series Lucky Hank and joins the cast of season 2 of The Bear.

Rhea Seehorn As Kim Wexler

Jimmy's wife and (literal) partner-in-crime, Kim Wexler has given up a prestigious lawyer position to strike out solo, helping those who can't afford proper representation. Kim evolved into the driving force behind Jimmy's criminal scams, pushing for ever more ambitious cons. However, season 6 shows her the consequences of pushing things too far which leaves Kim devastated with guilt and thinking about a new life without Jimmy.

Rhea Seehorn earned her first Emmy nomination for playing Kim in season 6 of Better Call Saul. She has previously featured in Things Heard & Seen, Veep and Franklin & Bash. She will next reteam with Vince Gilligan for an untitled Apple TV+ series in which she will play the lead.

Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut

All Mike Ehrmantraut wanted was a quiet retirement to enjoy watching his granddaughter grow up; now he's the right-hand man of criminal drug lord, Gus Fring. A mafia Jack-of-all-trades type, Mike was once a cop, but his faith in justice ebbed away following his son's death. Season 6 finds Mike dealing with the threat of Lalo Salmanca and keeping Fring safe from this formidable enemy. Though fans know how his story ultimately concludes in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul gives Mike another satisfying end in season 6.

Jonathan Banks earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for his final appearance as Mike Ehrmantraut in season 6 of Better Call Saul. Banks is a veteran actor who has appeared in classic movies like Gremlins and Beverly Hills Cop as well as the crime series Wiseguy.

Michael Mando as Nacho Varga

Michael Mando as Nacho in Better Call Saul

Michael Mando returns as Nacho Varga in Better Call Saul season 6. Nacho's job as a Salamanca family enforcer became a little too real after they targeted his civilian father, allowing Gus Fring to coerce Nacho into switching sides. Having helped orchestrate an attempted assassination on Lalo, Nacho was forced to go on the run before being given a less-than-thrilling offer to keep his father safe in exchange for keeping Fring's involvement in Lalo's assassination attempt a secret. MCU fans will recognize Mando as Mac Gargan, the villain who becomes Scorpion, in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin

A lawyer in the most stereotypical mold, Howard Hamlin has endured something of a personal crisis since the death of Chuck McGill in Better Call Saul season 3. Season 6 makes Howard Better Call Saul's most tragic character as he is needlessly targeted by Jimmy and Kim for one of their schemes that has consequences that neither of them could have imagined. Patrick Fabian starred in the 2010 horror The Last Exorcism and guest starred on shows like Barry and The Morning Show.

Tony Dalton as Lalo Salamanca

Everybody's favorite Salamanca narrowly escaped death at the end of Better Call Saul season 5 and set off looking for revenge. Lalo continued to prove himself a formidable foe and utterly ruthless as he set his sights on Gus Fring and even pulled Jimmy and Kim into his plans. However, while many fans thought he would be the biggest threat in season 6 of Better Call Saul, Lalo underestimated Fring. Tony Dalton recently appeared as Jack Duquesne in the MCU's Hawkeye series.

Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring

Breaking Bad's infamous villain joined Better Call Saul in season 3, far less established than audiences are accustomed to seeing him. Season 6 finds Fring continuing to grow his empire with the build of his superlab which Walt and Jesse will later take over. However, there is also the looming threat of Lalo that Fring must deal with which threatens to destroy everything. Like Mike, the audience already knows Fring's eventual end in Breaking Bad, but Better Call Saul manages to show new sides of the character and give more insight into his life. Giancarlo Esposito plays Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian and Stan Edgar in The Boys.
