Digital SAT Replaces Paper in 2024-25

This October, both the SAT School Day and the PSAT/NMSQT will be administered in a digital format. SAT School Day gives students the opportunity to take the SAT on a weekday--instead of a weekend--in the comfort of their own school.

Apply for Early Learning for Children Six Weeks to Four Years Old

The FCPS PreK and Early Head Start program is accepting applications for SY 2024-25. FCPS PreK and Early Head Start programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying income-eligible children ages six weeks to four years living in Fairfax County.

Summer Camps

Register now for FCPS summer camps for students currently in grades 6-11, including Institute for the Arts (IFTA) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Academy.

No-Cost Online Tutoring Service

Students have unlimited access to online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost to families. Students can connect online any time, any place, and in most K-12 subjects for however long they need. Tutoring may be on-demand or scheduled at a time convenient for the student and/or family.

No-Cost Mental Health Teletherapy

High school students can access virtual mental health services via live video sessions, at no cost to families. FCPS has partnered with Hazel Health to offer the therapy sessions.

"Tales of Anansi" - Showcasing the Magical Perspective of Storytelling

Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of communication available. The MVHS Theatre Arts Program production of "Tales of Anansi" showcased the stories of Anansi the spider who, according to African and Caribbean folklore, is the greatest storyteller in the world. Click here for the full story.

Mr. Burch-Bynum Recognized as the FCPS 2023 Outstanding Secondary School New Teacher

Congratulations to JROTC Marine Senior Instructor Melvin Burch-Bynum on his recognition as the FCPS 2023 Outstanding Secondary School New Teacher at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at George Mason University Center for the Arts on June 14th.

Digital SAT Replaces Paper in 2024-25

The district will offer access to the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) and SAT School Day for 10th through 12th grade students at no cost to families. Exams will be held at each high school on Wednesday, October 9. Both the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT School Day will be administered in a digital format.

🚧 FCPS Rounds Up Bus Drivers and Attendants to Test Their Skills at Road-eo Competition

The Office of Transportation Services recently hosted its annual Bus Road-eo competition. Stonecroft Transportation Center, typically used as a bus lot with a modular office for transportation staff, was transformed for the day into a space for friendly sport, team-building activities, and community connection.

Grit: Afghan Refugee Conquers Virtual Learning, 14 SOL Attempts to Graduate in June, Head to College

Samiullah — whose family left Afghanistan after his father survived being kidnapped by the Taliban — began his American public school experience in 2020 on a laptop computer. He persevered through pandemic virtual learning, summer classes and many SOL attempts to graduate this June and go on to college.

Virginia 2024 Computer Science Educator of the Year: Inspiring Students to Explore Technology and Coding

Congratulations to Kathleen Fugle, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and computer science resource teacher at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School! She was announced as the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) 2024 Computer Science Educator of the Year!
