At The Walker School, the infinite worth and dignity of each student defines our approach to learning. Walker is the top non-faith based PK3-12 school in metro Atlanta. Our commitment to diversity provides a safe atmosphere for students to discover who they are and how to successfully navigate an ever-changing world.

Wonder guides the educational experience at Walker. It is in our DNA. We kindle students' innate curiosity and channel it into challenging curricula, engaging interpersonal relationships, demanding athletics, and stimulating extracurricular activities. STEM at Walker

Our approach to science is hands-on and engaging, and all classes (PK3 - 12th grade) take place in state-of-the-art labs. The Warren Science and Technology Building houses 37,000 square feet of space for our students and teachers to use both in and outside of the classroom, to find the time and space to ponder, collaborate, make thinking visible, and to struggle with complex, meaningful problems.

Our family has had an amazing experience at Walker. My boys have a supportive and enriching environment, especially after encountering challenges with the local school system. The smaller classroom sizes and ample opportunities for extracurricular activities have allowed my boys to thrive academically and socially. It's commendable that the middle school emphasizes personal growth and independence for students, encouraging parents to step back and allow their children to learn from their mistakes and self-advocate. Being part of the Walker community has provided me (the parent) with a sense of belonging and connection through various involvement opportunities like parent volunteer organizations and events. Walker has made a significant difference in our family's life, and it continues to exceed expectations.

Review The Walker School

We have been at Walker since Lower School and are in the process of leaving. The new administration is neither viable, transparent or open to feedback. Tuition keeps going up without a payback to student in terms of innovation, class room resources of experiences. Other schools in the area are offering more innovations and learning programs without a 30k price tag. Turnover of teachers has been on the rise and I not been impressed with replacements. Culture needs an overhaul. Strong sense of favoritism for some families and students. If your kid is a favorite, they get more attention and recognition; everyone else is made to feel marginalized.

Our initial overall experience with Walker for many years was fine. The Academics and teachers were excellent. Over the past few years a change in Leadership and DEI priorities has led to lower standards in teacher competence and overall cultural shift. The lack of clarity in direction and future strategy to maintain exceptional standards has led to a major concern. The new administration is not visible nor do they listen to parent concerns.
