Grapevine High School Reviews
Rating 3.68 out of 5 449 reviews
I am currently a senior at Grapevine High School and i feel as if i have been properly prepaired in some ways, but at the same time i am completly lost. I have learned certian thongs that i gaurentee do not need to be taught and are very limited in real world appliction and usage. A prime example would be some of our ciriculum and the diasability to be able to lear youreself i can and have sat throughout many lectures but i know and understand that dosent allways work for me or everyone. On the opposite hand i have had amazing teachers and coaches who care about what they do and do there best to make the curiculum understanable and try to make it corrolate and intertwine to be able to be used in the real world. The school itself is not bad at all its facilitys for certian sports is amazing but outshines and leaves other sports with little to no funding. One example is wresling the wresling team has gone to state duals and have had 5 wreslers go state yet our funding was cut to $1,000.
Grapevine High School has a reputation of being an exceptional school in the DFW area, but recently the management of the school and its district have fallen steeply. The school board, comprised of mostly over-excited and under-qualified parents has enforced many restrictions and rules to limit the spread of knowledge to the youth of our community. Actions such as banning books, firing teachers- specifically those who go against the grain, laying off essential members of the board- who's only detriment was not going along with the the beliefs of the board members, and restricting self expression amongst growing teenagers. The school board along with the administration at Grapevine High School are disappointing to say the least. Their handle of the COVID-19 pandemic tarnished the school's reputation. Now, with millions in debts, a dysfunctional schedule, lack of teachers, and lack of care for its students, Grapevine High School is not what is used to be.
Grapevine is by far one of the best schools ever with the best principal Dr.Fingers. He goes above and beyond to be close to his students and have personal relations to make the school all together closer and more fun. Being able to win Grapevine's first state championship in history for girl's soccer was something I truly would never forget. I recommend for anyone that wants to have a fun and amazing highschool experience to go to Grapevine it really is an amazing school with amazing people.
