Cole Turner (formerly known as Belthazor; 1886[1]–2003) was the half-demon son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Turner. In 1888, Elizabeth killed her husband and raised Cole as a demon, becoming right-hand man to the Source and a member of the Brotherhood of the Thorn.
In 2001, Cole was approached by the Triad, who would grant him his father's soul if he would kill the Charmed Ones. He accepted, and set out to kill them by beginning a romantic relationship with Phoebe. However, he fell in love with her, which led him to kill the Triad, defy the Brotherhood and work against the Source. The Source later possessed him, which resulted in the Halliwells vanquishing Cole, though he managed to return from the Wasteland and attempt to win back Phoebe's affections. He ultimately failed, and was vanquished by a Phoebe from an alternate reality he created.
Because of his actions in life, Cole was confined to existing in a cosmic void. He somehow managed to manifest on the Earthly plane as a ghost, and tried to redeem himself by helping locate the missing Prue Halliwell, which he succeeded in.
