Brandon Judell indieWire A hyperkinetic ride through Dublin's underside. Just imagine Robert Altman directing on speed. Sep 21, 2021 Full Review Empire Magazine Rated: 3/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Anthony Lane New Yorker The great thing about Intermission is that you barely have time to spot the gaps. Aug 1, 2004 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Despite Intermission's low budget, the talented cast manage to bring to life a mostly light-hearted script, featuring some grimmer moments of cartoon violence. Rated: 3/5 Dec 1, 2021 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal "Intermission" is a bloke-and-smoke spin on "Love, Actually." It's for women seeking a romantic comedy that doesn't reduce relationships to cutesy-poo homilies. By adding shootouts and car chases, it's slso for guys who are just not that into goo, either. Rated: 3.5/4 Sep 24, 2010 Full Review Betsy Bozdech DVDJournal.com Intermission feels fresh. Perhaps that's because ... it's not a quirky romp about a colorful bunch of wacky characters with a so-crazy-it-just-might-work idea. Rated: 3/4 Oct 22, 2006 Full Review Read all reviews

P H Love absolutely everything about it. It's pure Dublin humour & I don't doubt it's gonna go down as a cult classic. Fantastic film & hilarious 😂 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review Laurie S Basically it's a film about cretinous dickheads. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Alan G I really enjoyed it. Interesting interweaving of story lines. Murphy was very good but I thought Meaney was better. Overall, a great cast. Very watchable, more so if you are a Dub. Would have liked to seen the stone throwing gurrier get hit by a bus after he threw his final stone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review dave s Intermission is filled with characters in search of something, from love to their own perceived or real shortcomings to a myriad of other issues. The cast is huge and the storylines are plentiful, all mixed together to create a tapestry of day-to-day life. While the vast majority of the characters are either painfully shallow, inherently evil or horribly irresponsible, they are, for the most part, likable and easily relatable, which seems to be the appeal to the film. Thanks to some snappy dialogue and strong performances from Colin Farrell, Kelly MacDonald and Colm Meaney in their small roles, the movie, if you can overlook some dizzying camerawork and choppy editing, is a joy to watch.
