Jordan Ayew enjoyed a landmark season in 2019/20, scooping three club awards and finishing as the Eagles' top scorer.
Palace completed the deadline day capture of Jordan Ayew on a season-long loan from Swansea City just before the end of the transfer window in August 2018 and signed the Ghanaian striker permanently in summer 2019.
The forward arrived in SE25 with plenty of Premier League experience having played for Aston Villa and Swansea City during the last four seasons, and he was named the Swans’ Players’ Player of the Season after ending 17/18 with 11 goals to his name, including strikes home and away against Palace.
Beginning his career with Marseille, Ayew was a part of the squad that won the Ligue 1 title in 2010 as well as three successive League Cups. He would also have spells with Sochaux and Lorient before arriving in England at Villa in 2015.
He won his first Ghana cap in 2010, just 10 months after his professional debut, and represented them in four Africa Cup of Nations as well as the 2014 World Cup.
In 2019/20, his first season as a permanent Palace player, Ayew stepped up his scoring and bagged a Goal of the Season strike at home against West Ham United - a Messi-esque finish, skipping past five players, pirouetting past challenges to dink it beyond the goalkeeper in stoppage time. He ultimately finished the 19/20 season with nine goals to his name. His goal tally also saw him claim the title of the highest scoring Ghanaian in Premier League history, surpassing previous record holder Tony Yeboah.
He sinced established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet, leading by example and delivering consistent performances on the pitch. He signed a contract extension in June 2022, to further push on his time in SE25.
Ayew was ever-present for the Eagles in 2022/23, scoring four times and recording three assists in the Premier League. He then penned a further contract extension in November 2023 to add another year onto his spell.
The 2023/24 campaign saw Ayew hit the 200-game milestone in style for Palace with a goal and assist in the 3-0 win over Burnley at Selhurst Park in February 2024. In the month prior, Ayew also claimed his 100th cap for Ghana - netting twice against Mozambique in the African Cup of Nations.
He finished 23/24 with 37 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles, with four goals and seven assists.
