What To Expect

This tour takes place at One CNN Center in downtown Atlanta—where the main newsrooms and studios for several of CNN's news channels are located. Take the voucher to the tour box office and receive a timed ticket for entry to CNN’s worldwide headquarters.

On this exciting Inside CNN Studio Tour, get an in-depth look at the CNN headquarters and learn about the history of the network from the guide. CNN is known internationally as the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage and the first all-news television channel in the United States. In the control room theater, learn how news broadcasts are assembled. Check out the newsrooms and studios and see how a television news broadcast is written, produced and delivered to the world. Some of the CNN anchors or correspondents might even be seen working on a live broadcast.

Then, inside a special effects studio, see the technology behind the weather maps and on-air graphics that highlight the broadcasts and find out how they are created. Watch news feeds from live broadcasts and see journalists at work in the main CNN newsroom.

There will also be an opportunity to have a souvenir photo taken behind a news anchor’s desk.

Before or after the tour, don’t forget to explore the many shops and restaurants in the CNN Center.

Good

The tour guide lost her voice and she knew her information. However, since the job requires talking, I believe it would have been best to have a host who didn't lose their voice. Overall, it went well!
Excellent!

A life-long "news junkie", I could not wait to visit CNN upon arriving in Atlanta to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We scheduled a tour and our tour guide Patrick Martin, could not have been more informed or entertaining. We recommend a visit to CNN to any and all visitors to the Atlanta area, Thank you.

Not as much to see of actual broadcasting as expected. It appeared that all of the live productions were coming from NY or elsewhere.
Very nice!

We had a very informative tour guide, who was very funny. The history of the building and how the inner workings of how news is brought to the public was interesting. It's just a short, 50 minute tour. I truly enjoyed myself. Thanks Matthew

Good Tour
Claudette_H, Mar 2019
I enjoyed the tour by Mike however it would have been very nice and worth all the walking if we had seen the broadcasting in action or at least one anchor. I took my best friend on the tour because all she does is watch CNN 24 hours a day and knows all the anchors on a first name basis.
So so

Nothing very compelling. Focus too much on technology and nothing about the news reporters. Not good value for money
It's too restrictive and short tour.

It's too restrictive and short tour. I'm not satisfied the tour. They showed us just 3 spot. Price is too high.

Wonderful experience to visit CNN studio building and have guided tour through various offices that process daily news - both home and abroad.
We didn't have a very good tour...

We didn't have a very good tour guide. There was a woman who had a daughter that was making a little noise and he asked her to leave. I'm not going to ask you again. It just set a weird tone for the rest of the tour. I'm sure it's a cool tour, ours just felt like a dud.

So Awesome. Addison, the tour guide was funny and informative. I laughed and learned and would absolutely do it again!

Melanie M M, Jul 2017
Enjoyed the tour however my goal was to discover how they differ in delivering the news from regular channels doing their 6PM reports. Specifically how do they handle breaking news, what qualifications do the staff possess to be employed by this organization, how do they work with getting news from other countries. Because of the brevity of the tour - 50 minutes - combined with the knowledge the tour guide had to report to next tour group, time to ask questions appeared limited. Tour guide did ask those which I was able to pose during the duration of the presentation.
Awesome Awesome Awesome...

This was a great behind-the-scenes tour of CNN. It was great to understand how the news is created and the domestic and international influence in the news. The CNN Center is a great place to get lunch, shop and tour. Great experience!

Totally interesting and informative. The tour guide took time to answer questions and you had the opportunity to take some fun photos. I would highly recommend.
We enjoyed seeing and hearing about...
Kathleen H, Oct 2016
We enjoyed seeing and hearing about the development of CNN and being inspired by the key people in the organization today. However, because we toured on a Sunday, there was not much activity to see in the various studios, and much of the broadcasting was taking place at the other studios in NYC and Washington, DC.
