Special attention for the song "What Love" on side two: the last part of that song (with only vocals and organ, then transitioning into a beautiful and moving saxophone solo) are the most gripping 6 minutes of Dutch radio EVER. It was the last, very last piece of music from Radio Veronica, broadcasts from sea and the only real popmusic station we've ever had here in this country. After 13 years it was over (government measure) and the channel continued on land. - Experimental early prog flavoured vocally driven harmony sounds w/ an interesting array of idiosyncratic psych elements – sitars, fuzz, vintage organ, wind instruments, Gregorian chants, Indian ragas, Christian liturgies, spiritual-bluesy jazz - & catchy pop.
Splendid adventurous under the radar gem. referencing The Collectors (LP, Album, Stereo) WS 1746
My 3de album when released, played grey. Still one of my favorites.- Sublime, intelligent, powerful, this album takes one on a real sound voyage--especially the hallucinogenic full-side piece, "What Love (Suite)." Softer interegnums pacify clashing, harsher portions as orgiastic crescendi are reached and denouements follow, whispers preceding screams. Beautifully orchestrated by talented musicians. Two albums, and then they descended into pop nonsense in the band Chillliwack...
