- michaelaEast Berlin, PA6 contributionsI visited with my boyfriend and my family. We all enjoyed the house tour and the self-guided tour of the grounds. All of the staff, volunteers and vendors we encountered were friendly and helpful. We learned a lot of new information during our visit even though we are local. I enjoyed seeing the animals, especially the sweet kitty.Written May 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 7DBGirlShiloh, NJ16 contributionsCentral market is the perfect place for a fresh, handmade lunch and dessert if you’re enjoying a walk in Lancaster. Don’t miss the Nord, a Scandinavian eatery for a great grab and go meal. They have the BEST hot dog ever! Made to order and served on a delicious brioche bun, The owners are kind, hardworking folks who put forward quality items. So good!Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Marcos D6 contributionsGreat small town to visit on a weekend. On Saturday, we went to the James Buchanan's Wheatland. In preparation, I read a book about James Buchanan life. It was an excellent to opportunity to learn about this president. On Sunday, we walked around downtown. There are some very nice buildings in downtown. I was impressed with the number of building in this small town.Written May 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DEL1_11Manchester Township, NJ148 contributionsWe went to see a fantastic showing of South Pacific at this beautiful historic theater. The show was magnificent and could easily rival those in theaters in NYC. They were very accommodating for our handicapped needs and we loved the experience.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ilovewvmountainsShepherdstown, WV90 contributionsWe took our 6 and 10 year olds as well as 2 of their friends with us for a day trip to Dutch Wonderland to celebrate the end of the school year. We have been going to DW for the last several years. Overall the park is clean, well kept and the kids “and adults” had a blast. The water park was open as well, lines were small and the max wait time for rides was about 10 minutes and that was for the Fun Slide! The big rides had no wait at all, the kids really had a great time. The shows at the aqua theatre were excellent as usual too. The only gripe I have with the park is the food and beverage situation. We ate at the mill creek eatery, which is like a cafeteria. The quality of the food is very low but the prices are the opposite. The kids threw a lot in the trash, the Mac and cheese was gross, cold flat chicken strips and mushy fries. That said we have eaten other times at the potato patch and pizza without issues. The only other gripe is we bought 2 of the refillable cups, by 6pm there was no place to get a refill. The BBQ place opened the window, offered me a cup of ice but said they had already disassembled the drink machine. They should keep them running till 6, the cups are around $25 each so you are paying for refills not a cup of ice! The area around DW is great, I suggest the Best Western Plus in Intercourse. It’s clean, has a pool and includes a fantastic breakfast buffet.Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ken AWalnut Cove, NC405 contributionsWe arrived on a Thursday morning and got to the visitor center just as the video started so they had us watch it first and then pay. A very good video providing the history of the area and this property. We then paid and started our self guided walking tour. Very interesting exhibits and docents in several buildings to provide information and answer questions. The general store, tavern, and fabric personnel did an outstanding job and I had no idea the work involved in creating cloth. Very glad there was foresight to save all of these buildings and related farm and living equipment so we could get a glimpse into the past. Several gardens and lots of flowers throughout the property. Several bathrooms and a very nice gift shop and we spent about two hours there. Well worth a visit.Written May 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Minor league baseball is always a fun time. It looked like they had a really extensive kids play area too. Definitely worth going if you are in townWritten May 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- deniseleighton222Petawawa, Canada13 contributionsWe were just visiting here to fill some gaps in our schedule and we are so glad that we did! We were greeted promptly at the door by the friendly staff. We discovered that we did not have time to see the life-size replica of the Tabernacle that day, but we did have time for a free 20 minute movie/documentary on the history and life of the Amish and Mennonite people. The movie was very informative and interesting. They have some displays upstairs as well as a large souvenir and gift shop that was extremely well stocked. We returned the following day for the Tabernacle experience and we're not disappointed! It was $10 per person and it started with an introduction by a guide before entering into the Tabernacle area. Go see this display, you won't regret it!Written September 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Margaret C71 contributionsMy niece, and I went to last evening’s (10/25 @ 8:30 PM) tour of After Dark: Exploring the Haunted History of Rock Ford. The curator, Samuel Slaymaker, gave us a tour which included several reported incidents of spiritual activity over the 19th century. He provided readings from 1900s LANCASTER newspapers of General Hand’s Home. We had a wonderful time and the atmosphere with the real candles, which were lighted, provided the spooky atmosphere appropriate to the tour’s theme. Looking forward to the Yuletide tours.Written October 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bonnie JHolden, MA28 contributionsThis scale model of the tabernacle with the narrative was very well done. It was well worth the $11. One hour is plenty. I enjoyed learning the history of the Amish and Mennonites in the other film. They have great books, etc. for sale too.Written April 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
