Dragon Blade

Dragon Blade ★★½

Starring: Jackie Chan - The Suicidal Clown, Drunken Kicker and Master of Punches

Another epic, “historical” film starring Jackie Chan. This time he once again gets to do much more and he arguably delivers the best performance out of the entire cast, which includes John Cusack and Adrien Brody. The action is great, especially that third act with the way Chan and co. broke free and that fight between these two characters in the end. There’s also some cool imagery, like with Cusack at that prison or when these two characters throw themselves off the cliff, and the production design is great as well as the cinematography. Unfortunately, as it's been the case with a lot of these movies, the writing is not on the same level, and I was never fully engrossed in the story. The chanting driven score is great.

All in all, there’s some decent action and the technical work is great, but it’s one of those that isn’t worth checking out. At least you are completing Chan’s filmography as well as I am.
